Hello,

I am starting NO S today. I like the idea of joining a forum so here I am.

Welcome.

This is one of the more kindly Internet forums you're likely to find, so I expect you'll enjoy being here.

Good luck with the No-S.

Thanks Noel!

Yes, I've been on some forums with past diets that I have tried and let's just say that people can get down right rude and nasty with ya when you don't eat exactly the way they do. No thanks!

I've been checking in here for about a month now, always full of friendly advice, tips and support :)

Good luck starting NoS! One of the good things about it is that no-one really does NoS exactly the same way - as long as you are keeping the core principles down it's a pretty easy system to adapt to your own circumstances.

ImageSimpleLife,
This is an exceptional forum,
full of kind, thoughtful and intelligent people who are tolerant
of each other's many different ways-of-eating.
I think you'll like it here.

Welcome! No S is a great, simple diet. That's one of the things that attracted me to it. You don't have to spend all your time obsessing about what you eat.

Nicest,
I definitely want to get over my obsession with food! Who can live like that? or rather who wants to live like that?

SimpleLife..
I understand how you feel, and many people here at No S feel exactly the same way.
However, we aren't all the same in those feelings.
I, personally, treat Dieting like an enjoyable hobby.

I Understand and Accept that I am obessed with food and with weight.
AND...since in my own particular case...there is no other option,
I have developed a postive attitude about it,
and now I DO WANT to live like that.

BA, yes, that you treat it as an enjoyable hobby is cool.

What gripes me about OTHER people's reactions to someone who has decided to make a hobby out of weight is that they put it out there that there is a moral failing in choosing not to, as if I have some moral responsibility to go to ANY extreme measure it would take to make my body look in a way THEY approve of.

Of course YOU would never think of doing such a thing, but so many, many do. It's terribly distressing to deal with.

Well I guess I never considered that some people enjoy dieting and learning about dieting. That's cool, I can respect that.

I guess for me it's like mental torture to always worry about what I am or am not supposed to eat and how small I wish I was. I'd like to just live and not worry about that stuff.

Yes, we're really quite something, aren't we? Friendly, helpful, supportive, and modest. :)

(But seriously, folks, this really is a remarkable community, almost entirely free of the non-stop flame wars that are so often the prevailing background on the Net. I guess one can point that out without being immodest: we're just complimenting *everyone else*, after all.)

In terms of a simple life, I think you've come to the right place with NoS! Welcome.

I totally understand what you mean,
as I have had to deal with people like that my whole life.
It is totally freeing to make your own choices about how you want to live,
and how you want to be.
