******JUNE CHALLENGE*****

Post by KareBear » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:25 pm

I know that renee usually does this so I sure hope I am not stepping on any toes...but after two days of fails, I need the accountability. I know, I know, I can do the daily check ins and HabitCal, both of which I do, but there is something about a group of us, all posting our success and failures.

So here it goes for June. Post your goal at the top of your page and fill in as you go. For instance...

June: VANILLA NO S, with 5 days of exercise.
June 1:
June 2:

You know the drill....

Also, some tips from reneew...
Write down what your goal is at the top of your post and then update us as to how you're doing. It's O.K. to not post daily, but try to keep us updated. Accountability helps!
- *Remember* to only post once at the top and edit that first post all month. It's easier to skim-read and find each other.
- Please re-read that last one, some people don't get it.
- This challenge is meant for all of us to give support, so let's try hard to do that.
- anyone can start whenever through out the month. The more ~ the merrier!
- good luck and have fun with it!

WE CAN DO THIS

Thank you for starting us off, Stubby!

My goal for June is to be red-free, with No S Diet (easier) and Exercise (harder). I do vanilla No S except that I take my Saturday S-Day on Fridays. I am allowed two S-Events during each month.

1 - Success (No S Diet & Exercise)
2 - Success (No S Diet & Exercise)
3 - S-Day (No S Diet & Exercise)

I've been "cheating" a bit since I give myself a Success for Exercise as long as I started my workout (and I do make it thru at least 10 minutes), even if I don't finish it. Next month I may have to invoke a minimum time.

The more check-ins the better for me, so here goes here too!

My goal for June is Vanilla No-S with the new guideline of two servings each of fruits and veggies each weekday. Plus 30 minutes of exercise each weekday (currently it's 3 days cardio with 2 days resistance mixed with a little light cardio, aka a walk, but doing what I can is the real goal).

Since last month, I have been implementing the rules of No S at a slower pace. I have No Seconds and No Snacks down, and am currently working on No Sweets.
My goals for June are: to follow the rules of No Seconds and No Snacks every N Day, to follow the rule of No Sweets on every other N Day (Mon/Wed/Fri) & have only a small portion of sweets with my dinner every other N Day (Tue/Thu), and to exercise at least 15 minutes then do some jump rope every N Day. Note: When I'm on vacation with my family this month, I'm not going to worry too much about these rules but I won't just let myself go.

June 1: Success :D
June 2: Success :D
June 3: Success :D
June 4: S Day :D
June 5: S Day :D
June 6: Success :D

June 23: Exercise: Success :D No S: Failure  I failed on a day where I could have a small sweet with dinner. *smh* I have learned that fudge is a huge trigger food for me, nearly impossible to resist, so I will not be allowing it in my home anymore.

Quick- gimme some accountability!

Post by nosnos » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:01 am

Hello All,
I hope it's ok to jump in half way through. I have been really struggling to stay on habit. No major slip ups or binges, but I need to be strict if I am to see any changes with this way of eating.
I want to do Vanilla Nos, and I want all greens til the end of the month... Come onnn!

Mon 13th Fail
Tues 14th Success :)
Weds 15th Success :) -went to a restaurant with 8 people and didn't eat as I'd eaten already!!!
Thurs 16th :Success :) -survived a car full of people eating takeaway at 11.30pm without caving
Fri 17th:Fail :(- made some small ground almonds and raison balls to take with me on the weekend and ate one as there was no room left in the container to store it! a small fail, but a fail nonetheless. I have learned I can't be trusted to make things before s-days, so I should avoid this whenever possible
Sat 18th: S-day
Sun 19th: S_day
Mon 20th Success :)
Tues 21st success :)- Virtual plated dinner, but all pre-decided and would have fitted on a plate
Update-Foraged some fruit on a walk after dinner and ended up eating some, then ate some kiwi and banana I was drying out FAIL :(
Weds 22nd Success :)
Thurs 23rd Success :)
Fri 24th Success :)
Sat 25th Sday
Sun 26th Sday
Mon 27th Success :)
Tues 28th Success :)
Weds 29th Success :) This might be my first totally green week :D
Thurs 30th Success :)
Fri 1st Success... MY FIRST EVER TOTALLY GREEN WEEK!!!!
And I just realised my scale splits stones into seven sections, not 14 so I am officially 2llbs lighter not one, since starting nos. Yay!! X

Funny i could survive 2 difficult social situations and fail alone in my own home! Grrrr... I thought I was being sensible making some sugar free treats for the weekend as i was supposed to attend a wedding and sugar gives me acne so I avoid it. I made 10 little balls and only 9 fitted in the container. What was i supposed to do?!
Oh well, S-days are here now, heres to 5 greenies next week!
Well done to everyone else you all seem to be doing really well.

I cannot resist joining in for the last part of the month. I just returned from 16 days of vacation. The April and May challenges really helped me to be accountable for exercise, and I need to get back into the routine now that I am back home. So...the goal right now is to just meet my minimum which is 30 minutes a day at least 6 days a week.

Monday, 6-20: Got home late last evening after two days of traveling and was exhausted. Made myself walk 30 minutes.
Tuesday, 6-21: Tried WII Fit for the first time. I did 33 minutes of aerobic exercise per WII, but it took about an hour total to get started with a profile, do initial tests, navigate around the system and exercise. I liked it. Also did about 20 minutes walking with the dog today.
Wednesday, 6-22: 2 Mile Walk/Jog: 23:34; this was only slightly slower than before I left for vacation. Also did about 20 minutes of dog walking.
Thursday, 6-23: 30 minutes of dog walking and 27 minutes of WII. I cannot believe I actually work up a sweat doing WII. I also like that it only counts your actual exercise time and not the pauses to change exercises.
Friday, 6-24: Dog walk in am: 2 miles/34 minutes (I have been staying away from walk/jogs for a couple days because of a slightly sore back.); another 10 minutes of dog walking in pm.
Saturday, 6-25: Usual dog walking plus a 5K at the Senior Olympics. (At 55 I qualify but do not really feel like a senior.) My time was 37:30 which I was very happy with considering that I have only run once in the last 3 weeks and have a sore back. My back is improving, just some muscle soreness.
Sunday, 6-26: I did not do much formal exercise, but this is one of the most active days I have had in a long time. I definitely marked green on my habit cal. Activities included: housecleaning, including some vigorous vacuuming; shopping with my daughters; some quick walks with the dogs; preparing for and fixing food for 12, grilling, and cleaning up afterwards; running around the backyard with 2 and 4 year old boys.
Monday 6-27: I was sluggish after the busy day yesterday but managed a 2 mile morning walk at a slower than usual pace (38 minutes) as well as a 10 minute evening walk.
Tuesday, 6-28: The day started out with some unexpected phone calls and some things that needed attention. This shortened my morning walk with the dog to 1.5 miles (25 minutes), but I got another 10 minutes after work. I still feel rather sluggish even though the weather is beautiful.
Wednesday 6-29: Still just walking: 2 miles in AM at 34 minutes. 10 minutes in PM. But still a success.
June 30: Frustrating day; I was out walking/jogging with the dog in the park when I was confronted by a man with two dogs not on leashes. They were smaller dogs and came snarling and snapping at my large dog. The owner could not control them and I had to leave the park. After taking the dog home I went back out and did a total of 2 to 2.5 miles. I also put in a 10 minute walk with the dog in the evening.
