I'm back. I get it and I love it.

I fell away from this but now I'm back. I read up some more on how snacking is not good for the hormones. I now get it and after the 2nd day, I'm having no issues with keeping it up.

I know now that the first 3 hours after a meal, insulin is released and then for the next 2-3 hours, the liver supplies your snack in the form of glycogen. I never got to that stage but I was throwing my insulin up all the time with constant snacking. Even so called healthy snacks like fruit between meals is bad.

I have lots of energy because I'm not always digesting food. I was always saying that I can't do something because "I'm about to eat" or "I just ate". Now I'm cleaning, exercising, walking etc. because I'm free to do things for a longer timespan.

I have more money too because I see all the snack foods I used to buy and don't need now. Every grocery visit included mid-meal snacks. Now I'm shocked at how that meant an extra $15 per visit.

No S isn't etched in stone so it's ok to make it work for you. I don't have S days or special treats. I just add desserts to a meal whenever I think I need to. My meal must never make me feel stuffed.

I know what you mean about having more energy and feeling free to do stuff rather than worrying about if you'll be gone too long and miss your next snack. I leave in the morning to run errands, etc., and sometimes don't get home until mid-afternoon for lunch. I am not buying crap on the road to get my snack in. I am starting a full time job this week and I am so glad to have discovered No-S befoe starting, because now I know I will be fine with just a lunch break (and coffee!). Its not a constant worry anymore!

I totally agree -- I love that No S will wait patiently for every time I may decide to go try something else, like "try to eat less" or whatever I come up with that inevitably seems to slowly pack on pounds, even if it starts out with loss. I am back after about a year, totally vanilla this time, and after nine weeks I am regularly noticing that it encompasses a whole bunch of sane principles that are normally lacking in me (like being really hungry before a meal. duh).

This is great to know, another reason to adhere to the no snacking rule.

You have now explained what I noticed before No S; that my worst times to overeat were one-to-three hours after a meal. If I could make it to three hours, I was usually fine. Most days, I love hour four on.And the first hours are okay now, too.

Welcome back and I agree with everything you have posted. (I too had to "return" to make it stick. And it has.

And, about the money, isn't that so true? I realize now that I am not walking down the candy aisle, the cookie aisle, the potato chips aisle, etc. at the store. More money for fresh fruit and veggies. When people say it costs a lot to eat healthy, I think to myself - only if you are buying unhealthy stuff at the same time.
