Do you count Peanut butter as a sweet or not

No. but then again, I hate the kind that has added sugar in it.
The only peanut butter I like to eat is the kind which has 3 ingredients or less on the jar - peanuts (at least 95%), a little salt and some palm or peanut oil to 'fluidise' it a bit.
There's a wholefood store I found in Amsterdam that will make the peanut butter FRESH in front of you from whole peanuts with nothing added. It's just the best.

Since the main purpose of peanut butter is not sugar, it isn't a sweet. But watch what you put with it!
Carolejo, I wish I could get my pb at that wholefoods store in Amsterdam!

Hi Angel..
Peanut butter and jelly are borderline S foods...
Same as sugar in your coffee or cereal...
If, as Reinhard says, you "Lay it on thick" then you can make it an S....
I don't think you really need to worry about peanut butter!!! It's healthy, easy and cheap!
So don't worry about that...
That is unless your source of it is a Reeses Peanut Butter cup..
Peace and Peanuts,

Deb

celery sticks filled with peanut butter makes a nice crunchy lunch. Add a small sprig of grapes, couple of oatcakes and a little cheese and you're away.
....mmmm. Peanut butter!

Okay, might as well get on the peanut band wagon here! LOL...
I love it on celery too... But this year I discovered a nice way to make a "fake" pad thai... Just add the PB to any noodle dish and throw in some hot sauce and maybe a little soymilk for creamyness...
It's really nice!
Peace and Peanut Butter,

Deb

My favorite pb thing is still a Banana Dog...hot dog bun, spread with peanut butter, pop a banana inside, top with applesauce.

PB is great - it probably has enough benefits to outweight its negatives. I have a PB&J for lunch every now and then... nice cheap eats!
There is a Jif plant here in town, and some days I can smell the faint smell of peanut butter coming from that plant as I walk out the door in the morning. Jif and Smuckers Natural tend to alternate shelf space in my cabinet....

Peanut butter is actually good for you! It is high in fat - true, but the kind of fat is good for you! I stopped eating "regular" peanut butter about a year ago, when I was reading about the ABS Diet. (By the way, a good plan and a great read, especially for guys!) If you look at the back of a jar of Jif or Skippy or whatever, they add partially hydrogenated oil, so the peanut butter doesn't separate. The thought of natural peanut butter used to gross me out (you know, the oil on top and all of the stirring) but now I absolutely love it! A little goes a long way, and will definetly hold you over until your next meal. It does satisfy your sweet tooth - just use sugar-free jelly!

Yesterday I mixed equal parts pb and unsweetened applesauce and then used it for a bread spread. This was so good! Very light and sweet.
Guess who's back...
