Siesta!

Post by Who Me? » Tue Aug 30, 2011 8:27 pm

You know what I did during lunch at work today? (Hint: people in Mediterranean countries do this.)

I took a nap. Closed my curtains, shut the door, set the alarm on my cellphone, and fell fast asleep on the loveseat in my office. I *never* do this, although some of the carpenters do from time to time.

Anyone else take siestas?

If I had a private office I would. There's sometimes it would really help.

And then there's always the Equity Cot!

I had a Hawaiian boyfriend who was the head of a "shop" that repaired the electronics on the airplanes on a carrier. One of his mottos was "Never underestimate the value of a power nap."

I'm always amused by the phrase "power nap."

Rawr! I'm fast asleep. I am fiercely napping!

This makes me smile.

Back in my younger days, before a night out on the town, we used to call them "disco naps." I do have to say that this was during the 80s and not 70s but it sounded good.
