Back Again - Why Wait until 1/1/12?

Post by seymour » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:40 am

I started "NO S" a few months ago and lost seven pounds and felt great! I loved saving my desserts for the weekends. I don't know how or when it happened but I started eating desserts every single day. I would make Christmas cookies and eat the 24 chocolate chips that I baked. There were Christmas cookies at work and I would grab a handful each time I walked by them. This morning I decided not to wait until January 1st but to get back on No S now! This plan works when you stick with it. and I can't wait to feel better again.
Start NO S on 12/23/11 (did not want to wait until 1/1/2012)

Good luck - those cookies at work are a killer. This is the first year I haven't felt the temptation to grab any ... Moderation doesn't work for me with snacks - if I have one cookie, for some reason I'll go ahead and have another and another and another. So not having that first cookie is key!

I'm going to reboot on 01.01.03 when I go back to work. I am heading to Sun Valley in April and then Palm Springs for part of the summer. (I have heard, not the best time...) So, I don't want to be to flabby.

I say I started on Jan. 1, 2010, but it was actually Dec. 26, 2009. So it's been two years and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I remember I went on a trip that weekend and it was perfect to have them be S days, though I found I kept pretty much to the meal schedule, I think because I had already started. I just had dessert one day, I think, and a waffle with syrup on Sunday. I know I felt almost out of control before that, eating half a gallon of ice cream after work and such. I really needed to start when I did! I'll bet you will be glad, too.

I'm back again today (28 December). Tomorrow will be a NWS day as we have a day with family, and I was toying with the idea of waiting until after the new year to start again. However, I have decided that I need today and Friday to be green - I can do one day at a time - even though I am surrounded by chocolate :D.

Yes! I am not alone. I posted quite a bit in the summer, quit posting through the fall as I was overwhelmingly busy but still did well but the holidays, oh! It's time to reenergize myself again. I'm glad I'm not skulking in here alone.
