I came across this just now off of Yahoo! But, as I skimmed it, it leads more to cultural norms that we in the US don't have.

I'm really interested in this. I would like to know more on this topic so I might have to do a bit of reading!
At the moment I am eating my last meal between 5 and 6 so that the whole family can share the meal together (husband works evenings and daughter goes to bed at 6ish). I used to eat much later than this and I thought I would get very hungry but actually that hasn't happened and I feel much better for it.
I don't think it has necessarily translated into extra weight loss, but it certainly feels good and it results in a more productive evening as I don't spend it all cooking and then sitting around feeling stuffed!

What fits into your life makes a difference, too. Personally, I don't think it's worth it to give up the social aspects of food sharing just to get a few more pounds off. I've definitely cut down on salty foods, but I won't give them up forever to avoid any water retention. It's got to work as a whole. (Note that the midday meal is already the heavier meal of the day in Spain and is social event- maybe savoring food in the presence of friends affects this as well, as I've read that the savoring of food by the French may be part of the French paradox.)
