One week of NoS in TX

Just felt like I should drop in and say hello, as I have finished up my first week of NoS living!

Found your site somehow through HealthMonth.com, a behavior modification game that I have been using since January.

I'm female, physically active but a perpetual and mindless grazer, 5'10" and started at around 188 lbs. I lost 4.7 lbs in my first week of NoS with very, very little stress involved. I started with a friend and we swap food logs and feelings every day over Facebook.

My goal is to be down to 165 by September. That way I can continue to compete in my distance (horseback) riding in the lightweight category, no matter what equipment I choose to use. Right now, with some changes to my rig, I am riding in the heavyweight category, which sure didn't feel very good to transition into.

So.. hello! Thanks for the inspiration already. I hope I don't have to rest on the laurels of a good first week!

Thank you! So far, so good. For some reason, NoS has made me start to eat my heavy big meal and lunchtime, and then a slightly more sensible dinner. Works to help tide me over during my Very Hungry Afternoons.

Great job! I'm restarting No S, and after seeing your height and starting weight stats, I think you might be my diet twin. We even have the same goal weight.

That sounds like a reasonable goal and time frame. Welcome.

thepowerofcheese, we are totally diet twins! How did NoS go for you in the past? How did you choose your target weight?

oolala53, thank you for the kind welcome!

Maryashley, to answer your questions, No S worked well for me (when I stuck with it). I was planning on restarting No S earlier this week, but then got sucked into researching yet another complicated diet. Why do I do this to myself? I think I'm a diet masochist. I decided today I really want to make PEACE with my food, so I restarted No S. I chose 165 as my goal because that's the highest weight I feel truly healthy and attractive at. Being able to fit into my favorite outfits at that weight doesn't hurt either.

I hope you're doing better at singling out what works for you, thepowerofcheese!

I just had my third weekly weigh-in with No S and I am down about seven and a half pounds since I began this. That's the most consistent and gradual weight-loss I've ever managed and I think it must be the right way to do it, because I feel fantastic. Not exhausted at all from calorie-counting or crying over a sad plate of diet food.

Great job! :D I fell off the No S wagon the first week, but I've still managed to lose 5 pounds so far. I'm sure most of that is water weight. I expect I'll lose more slowly from now on.
