shovelglove + day 49

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

shovelglove + day 49

Post by psulli » Sat Nov 18, 2006 6:55 am

So I have been going since sept 29. i do five days on and two days off, however sometimes i take thursday or friday off and makeup on saturday. i just listen to my body on that one.

I still enjoy doing it. I must admit my Urban Ranger skills have slid as the weather here in the PNW has started to get shall we say ... poopee? But I have started getting out and walking again, too.

Right now I'm doing for both right and left hand:

50 shovel
20 butterchurn
20 chop wood
20 reverse butterchurn (handle facing down, me pushing up)
10 lever flips
20 sack lifts

And since I am wussboy and can't finish that routine within the 14 minute rule, I extended my iTunes playlist by a couple of minutes. Or a couple of couple of more minutes.

So, the new playlist is ...

"Natural Anthem" by The Postal Service
"Sunshowers" by M.I.A
"Me Myself and I" by De La Soul
"Front the Most" (Ultrastep mix) by MC Frontalot
"Peach, Plum, Pear" by Joanna Newson

Nice...

And just think, as the weather gets even poopier, your shoveling skills will start to come in handy.
