Shovelglove timer

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Shovelglove timer

Post by tommi » Thu Feb 14, 2008 7:21 pm

Third day of shovelgloving and i have decided to stop doing this while listening to music.
I lose concentration and sometimes wonder if i'm counting my reps correctly, i know that the only hard parameter should be the timer but i don't want to do more reps on one side than the other.

To avoid loss of concentration i just had to switch of the music, but then i had another problem, i needed a timer to tell me when to stop.

Here's a really stupid 14 minutes MIDI i made, in case somebody needs it:

www.infekted.it/shovelglovetimer.mid

It keeps silent for the whole time, when the 14 minute is over there's a little "ta-daaaaaaa" sound and applauses.
Pretty childish i know, but it's good for your ego :)

I hope you find it useful!

Nice! Much better than the annoying beep my timer makes.

Thanks for posting this.
