Today I wrapped the wood handle of my sledghammer in an overlapping winding of bright yellow electric tape. I have been having troubleholding onto it in certain exercises and this really helps. Besides, now it looks very pretty standing against the wall in the living room!

I'd thought about going to a bike store and getting some handlebar wrap. Let us know how the electrical tape works out.

The electric tape works just fine. If you over-lap it, the ridges are what helps the grip. We used to do this with our weapons in karate. Better grip=more control. Handlebar wrap might be nice in the summer if your hands sweat.
