It's been a while. I *need* my arms to shape up!
Time to dust off that SG and crank :)
Hoping this becomes if not an everyday thing, that I will do it for at least three days a week, along with my walking.
That's my pact with myself now.
I'm gonna add it on Habitcal, but on days I don't do it, I will not count it as a failure, unless I have more than 2 days off.. So I will put yellows on the days I don't do SG up to 2 days.. If I exceed two days off, I'll mark it as red.

Heeeere I go!

Okay first sg sesh today went great!
I only started to break into a sweat in the last four minutes.
I guess my arms are stronger than I remembered. Going back to the 12 lb was no prob at all!
Got a new music playlist and gonna make a few mixes to keep things lively :)
Feels great as it always had before!
I'm hoping that my triceps will tone up and the flaccid part ("grandma arms syndrome" haha)underneath goes down

Glad to hear it, Deb!

One idea in terms of maintenance is just to focus on the timer. That way not feeling up for a strenuous workout can never be an excuse -- all you have to do is put in that very little bit of time. And once you get started, most of the time you'll get into it.

Thank you guys!
I have a pleasantly tight feeling in my biceps today so that's nice.
Reinhard you are right, I am focusing on it really becoming a daily habit.
I already have a time I am doing my walking, which is pretty regular, give or take a half hour, and I will find a good time to regularly do the 14 mins.. But I am only aiming for 3 days a week of Shovelglove. If I do more it will just be an extra success. I'm shooting for Mon Wed Friday..
Have a great week!
Can't wait to measure my arms in a few more weeks. I will probably peek sooner though! hahah..
Love

Oh and AmIcoolYet88.. I am definitely having fun. I have done this before and always enjoyed it. Yesterday was definitely fun!
Really is a fantastic mood lifter to get such a pumped up feeling!
Swinging a sledge rocks!

Okay today is an SG failure because I waited too long to start..
I am going to do my walk but don't feel energetic enough to do both SG and UR one after the other..
Pah.. procrastination stinks..
Well this has taught me that I will have to make SG a morning activity so I don't have an excuse to say, it's too late now, I'm tired, which I am..
Walking I can do even when I'm tired.. Swinging a 12 lb sledgehammer I will never do when I'm tired

Well I'm a bit embarrassed to say, but SG is not gonna be one of my regulars on my HabitCal anymore.

I have just not stuck with it, and had a few days where my arms felt a little uncomfortably tight for a few days after SG.. I have been putting my energy and attention on these very long walks lately, and having lots of success with them.. Went from 1.9 miles for the first few weeks, to now walking about 4.3 miles 5 days a week.

I'm having problems focusing on my no eating at night, and each time I have a SG failure for the day, it just psychs me out so much.. I think in retrospect, I may have just bit off too many habits for me to chew.
So sticking with NoS, UR and getting a handle on no more eating past bedtime.

I'm still a huge fan of SG and will do it when I have time and energy enough, as a supplemental exercise, just for fun :)
I just don't want to over commit myself and then end up failing at *all* my habits as a result of that.

Peace and "glove"
