Walking can help cure depression

Post by That guy » Tue Jan 24, 2006 1:37 pm

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10992888/
Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin found that people suffering from depression who walked on a treadmill for 30 minutes reported feeling more vigorous and had a greater sense of psychological well-being for up to an hour after completing the workout.
Probably preaching to the choir here :D

And if walking to stay still on a treadmill is uplifting, just imagine what walking around properly in the fresh air would do for people! :)

Hey!

I just came here to post that link!

I'm finding that the combination of walking, fresh air, and sunshine is simply a magic elixer. If I don't get enough of the elixer in a given day I get really grouchy!

thanks,
David
