"Hi, Spambot. No human would fill in the form like that

If you get this message when trying to register, it's because my primitive home brewed spambot detection code thinks you are a spambot.

Basically if you remove any references to pharmaceuticals, the stock market, icq numbers, select parts of human anatomy, and countries in the former soviet union, you should be ok.

Email me if you are a human being and feel some pressing need to include this stuff in your profile.

I think I just slaughtered a whole bunch of innocent bystanders, but besides that, it seems to be working :-).

Hmm, that would bring up the age old philosophical question of whether the ends justify the means. :D
Before criticizing someone, you should try walking a mile in their shoes. Then you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

Ahh HAH!

I was wondering why you kept calling me a spambot...!

My icq number was in my profile.

Easily fixed though :)

Sorry about that, Pete!

Almost every account with an icq number is clearly a spambot.

But I'll see if I can make this a little more refined and avoid false positives...

No stress mate, I honestly don't use icq much anymore anyways :)

Funny how systems lose popularity over time. I can still remember chatting with the guys who made icq, and now it seems like the place is just full of spammers and scammers.

Such is life I suppose!

Hiya,

I tried to put one of those website trackers (you know, 129 days until going to Disney, lost 39 pounds since July 12th, etc...) in my signature. I made it based on "days on habit". But when I cut and pasted the BBCode for the tracker, I got the spambot message.

Is it possible you could make an exception for this? It would be cool to have a counter in my signature.
