Where's the White Out Button?

Why is it that some of my posts have a delete button and some don't? How do you delete a post if there's no big button with the X? This post, for example, has the X button right next to the edit and quote buttons, but other posts only have edit and quote.

I think only the last post in a thread can be deleted.

Hi Jan.. If you don't like what you wrote and want to get rid of it, just hit edit and then you can delete the whole thing by highlighting it and hitting delete.. Yeah the post will still be there but it will have nothing in it!
