Moderationinflagstaff's daily check-in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Moderationinflagstaff's daily check-in

Post by ModerationInFlagstaff » Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:12 am

Hey all,

I've tried the No S diet several times and always give in after a week! I've never tried using the Daily Check in board so I'm going to give it a shot! I'm starting at 260, which at 5'10" means I'm a pretty round guy! I'm facing an extra challenge this week as I'm traveling (In a training for a work) and all my foods on the company (thus eating out every night), and we have all the soda we can drink!
I've always observed my S days as a 48 hour period between Friday night and Sunday night. I'm going to stick with this plan! It's finally time for me to lose weight! I'm sick of the image I see in the mirror everyday. I fully believe in the No S diet! It's a simple concept (Moderation!). I will check in tomorrow with my first day of success! I look forward to this journey and thank you all for your support!

Josh
