A fail in letter and a succeed in spirit. We drove home today and had to pay for the ferry boat. However, we packed our dinner so we wouldn't buy food on the ferry. AND, twice today I was tempted to buy a latte. Not an option.

Getting in walks while with relatives was much harder than when I just walk to work. So that was great.
Avoiding lattes when I get the "urge" was great.
But greatest of all? Looking back over the 2013 Holiday Season and realizing that I had great times with family and friends and food. Food was an enhancer of interaction with loved ones; it added joy and did not steal satisfaction. I can't quite remember every having a holiday season like that. Amazing. AND I took 4 non-weekend S days!!!! But it STILL was the most reasonable, moderate, delightful combo of food and family my holidays have ever known.

And thanks, middleeager, for noticing my restraint! I was super proud of myself, and pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the party MORE than times when I overindulged in sweets and snacks.
