Cdfraun Daily Check In
This seems a little silly to have this posting, because why would people care about my daily check in? But I have to admit that having a community makes me feel good. I've fallen in the past 2 weeks. We have been in flux and haven't had anywhere near regular meals, but I know I could have made that happen. I'm back now.
So, here we go...for the second half of December, I'm in.
Thanks for the support. Just knowing I'm not alone with this makes me feel great!

The check-in is really just for you! But it is fun how we all tend to browse around and chime in on other's threads.

Hi cdfraun -- we all visit one another's daily pages, it can be really enlightening! And I agree with automated, this is one of the most civilized corners of the internet you'll find (apart from occasional spammers ^). Glad you have decided to start a check-in!

So for December 17, I had SUCCESS! I didn't eat lunch until 3:00, which was too late by every standard. And I even had a work Christmas party to attend and a dinner out with friends. So while it felt gluttonous in some ways (my one plate at the restaurant) and the opposite in others (I was pretty hungry by 3:00), I succeeded!
I'm going to choose to stop thinking of this as difficult and start thinking of this way of eating as right and natural. I think that saying it feels hard gives it too much negative attention. Our thoughts are so important to our reality, aren't they?

What we say to ourselves is very important! It's important to be accurate, though. Just saying that eating 1,000 calories a day isn't hard won't make it so.
But eating three meals a day most days of the week is quite a reasonable way to help us negotiate the mine fields of food in our culture. It's not torture and no one starves on it. These are good things to say.
Which doesn't mean it's easy. Just easier than counting calories, planning for perfect snacks, eliminating foods, following a specific diet. etc.

Today's going to be a great day. I'm working from home today and have been eating so much through the holidays that I can honestly say that I don't even feel hungry for breakfast and that is my favorite meal.
I'm also going to add my starting weight and my goal weight if I can dig my scale out of storage!
So, I like the idea of the dietary defaults and am going to give that some thought over the next few days as I try to settle back into a new work routine and the kids getting back to school after the holidays (on Tuesday).
I'm also going to begin my Couch-to-10K training today. I've already been a runner, but with all of the turmoil/moving/etc., I have lost some of my fitness level. So, I'm back at it again. The difficulty I'm working through is planning WHEN to have my three plates a day and still exercise. I have always exercised first thing in the morning before any food, but my new work/kid schedule will not allow for that. So, I will be fitting in my exercise in the afternoon.
So, let me go weigh myself....Well, I couldn't even find the scale, so I'll use my last weight from my doctor...

yay! These sound like some great goals and it seems you're putting together an action plan that is reasonable and doable.

How's it going, cd? If you're fitting in your running rather than posting, more power to you!
