NLB 3rd Attempt

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). Ex: Exempt - Light day, body tired, did some of SIU, walked 1 mile
Gl Ceiling: YELLOW - Test. Sticking to 1-2 glasses on N days, more on weekends if I want. May rethink, like how I feel when observing the gl ceiling.

Meal #1 - cereal w/banana

Meal #2 - Leftover Fish & Veg Bake, sm serving turkey soup

Meal #3 - Popcorn, cashews

S Days for me are Fri nite and Sat.

Have not been journaling food intake over weekend and can sure tell a difference. I haven't been bad but certainly not as good as last weekend. Tonight is a big Vikings game, bought some shrimp, son gave us homemade salsa too, and I was thinking of making this an exempt day when I decided nope, I've eaten once today, 2nd meal will be one plate of appetizers during game, 3rd meal will be my dinner. That's legal, right?

Last night was toughest night I've had as far as wanting a nighttime snack. If it weren't for counting these days, I'm sure I would have had one. Since I start my S days on Fri evening, I just kept telling myself 2 more days and you can have a snack. And by that time it is Day 19, Day 20 is S day, and Day 21 is back to N but the 3 weeks will be up. Wonder if I'll want to just keep counting.

Made it through Day 21. Eve of Day 19 was part of "S" for me, same with Day 20, Sunday, Day 21 was successful N Day.

Because the 21 day challenge saved me from nighttime snacking a couple times, I am going to start my second round today, Feb. 1. The 3# wt loss occurred from Jan 11-Feb 1. Now it gets much, much harder as closer to goal.

No S - Success, odd day in that went to funeral out of town. Ate more than usual but just one plate, no desserts.

Mods: Been thinking a lot about that and have decided I'm going to add a 4th small meal in late afternoon if I feel I need it so that I have more energy and more enjoyable evening. I am already active and plan to ramp that up and train for a 12 hour walk in early June.
