Yesterday was a solid N Day. I had to do some visual plating for dinner because we went out, but I tried to keep a strong visualization in my head and feel like I succeeded.

Today is GOING to be an N Day. I declare it. I'm going to be successful. Only greens and yellows the rest of the month. Huzzah!

Two solid N days behind me. Looking forward to today being another one. I have decided to count calories WITH No S just to make sure I'm not going over. I am so so so so so over my weight. I am ready to be thin and healthy again and I'm tired of quitting when it gets tough or boring. Time to be committed and dedicated regardless of motivation or "feelings". Time to make this a habit that sticks.

I am really tired today, but I am determined to have all green days during the week. It has been a rough adjustment back onto No S and I realized I was trying to do too many things at once. Trying to do No S, calorie counting at the same time, workouts every day, sometimes slim fast on top of it.

I've decided that to really get this right, I need to stick to No S solely for a while, then add exercise, then add other things as needed. We'll see how it goes.

I had a great N day today (well, I say HAD, it's not over yet, but I've stuck to plan so far and I WILL stick to plan tonight).

B: Protein Shake
L: 2 biscuits + 2 sausage patties + small bit gravy + apple jelly + 1 banana
D: Spring mix salad with red wine vinegar dressing + apple + loaded potato with bacon soup (progresso)

Exercise: None today (I had a LOT of tummy troubles today, so I didn't get any exercise in)

My goal right now is to stick to No S - NOT start calorie counting, or intermittent fasting, or slim fast, or ANYTHING ELSE but No S and trying to eat more whole foods, healthy foods, FILLING foods, etc. That is plenty enough challenge for me. No S + actually eating what's good for me (that I KNOW what is good for me)

I agree. Not only will you be taking some of the load off, but one of the great things about No S is that it is possible to lose weight without counting calories as long as one sticks to 3 healthy meals a day.

Yes, I think that will be the key for me: HEALTHY meals. I am such a bad person when it comes to fast food and heavily processed stuff. I LOVE all of that, so eating healthy will be an adjustment.

N DAY

Today, I'm focusing on mostly whole food meals.

B: Overnight oats with banana, whole milk, chia seeds, cinnamon, vanilla extract, rolled oats, cranberries, sunbutter
L: 2 golden potatoes chopped into fries, air fried with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, with hot sauce and sour cream
D: 1 2-tortilla quesadilla with tomatoes and banana peppers and cheddar cheese fried in canola oil with sour cream + apple + 4 mini pickles

Exercise: 30+ Minute walk around our neighborhood

Not the healthiest meals later in the day (probably had too much sour cream), but I will purposefully eat more fruit and salad-greens tomorrow. Every day is a food adventure -- that's how I'm thinking of it.

I also checked out on Kindle Unlimited a hobbit cookbook which will be really fun to look through. I'm rereading The Lord of the Rings and watching the extended editions of the movies, which has been REALLY fun.

After the initial success (a few years’ worth), I would say weaning myself off ultraprocessed foods has been the next profound change. I never have been one to toss it all out at once. I just stopped buying this and that until very few things came home. Still have a little fast food but SO much less. I just know-no, BELIEVE- too much now. I’m not sure what could have speeded up the process.

I fell away from No S, tantalized by other diets like the extreme Slim Fast diet. I lost 2.8 lbs in one week with that, bit the hunger was unbearable. I'm considering coming back to No S but I'm so afraid I won't lose weight or that it will be unbearably slow... Also, I no longer have a Facebook account so this is my only means of connecting with fellow No Sers. I hope that this discussion board will keep going!

I got lured away by CICO again, but I hate logging calories. It's just so tedious. So I'm back on No S and trying to be really vanilla and strict with it. Thank you for checking on me!

N DAY
W: 179.8
Exercise: 2 intentional walks (am and pm). 10,000+ steps

B: pb&j
L: one Russet potato made into air fryer fries with some olive oil and tajin + apple + 3 mini pickles
D: baked chicken + dairy free mashed potatoes + green beans + steamed broccoli, carrots, and peppers

I am so happy to have escaped calorie counting. It was so darn tedious. I don't know why I keep getting tantalized by CICO! I think I just feel worried No S won't be enough to see real and consistent progress. We shall see! I have eosinophilic esophagitis and because of this rare autoimmune disease, I need to completely avoid dairy, soy, seafood, and eggs. Yeesh. It's tough to find food outside of whole foods. Which is probably healthier for me anyway. On Friday, I have to have a colonoscopy completed due to some GI problems I've been having on top of EOE. So Thursday and Friday I'll be on a liquid diet, which I'll count as S days (Sick).

Hope you're all doing well. I love this community. As I don't have Facebook, I am so happy the boards are still up!

S (sick) Day

Today is day 3 of a colonoscopy prep diet. I've been on a liquid diet since yesterday and an altered sick day regimen since Wednesday. My procedure is this afternoon at 3pm. I am so ready to eat after this. I have actually GAINED weight due to the sheer enormity of sodium I've had to consume in the last two days. I will be so happy to get back to a normal routine and will hopefully enjoy my S DAY treats this weekend.

I've had to seriously alter my diet, as I can no longer consume dairy, soy, eggs, or seafood due to my eosinophilic esophagitis. Finding things to eat out is hard, but I'm determined to find fun things to eat this weekend when my husband and I get away to a new city for a night while the grandmother watches our kiddo.

S DAY

I have really overdone it on food this weekend, partly because the hubby and I were celebrating Valentine's Day and partly because I was so happy to be able to eat solid food again after the colonoscopy.

I will hopefully have a good get-back-on-track N DAY tomorrow.

F DAY

Sigh. My first day back in the new week and I've already failed. Getting out of CICO-I-can-eat-all-day-as-long-as-I-account-for-it mindset is hard. I didn't eat enough for breakfast and subsequently had a huge lunch that included some dark chocolate. I need to get back on track. I want this to be the final time I do No S. I want it to stick and become permanent.

F DAY

I ate half a dern pint of ice cream for breakfast (cashew milk ice cream is the BESSSST). I am so disappointed in myself. BUT I decided to get right back on track for lunch and dinner. I had a bowl of homemade chili for lunch with a small apple and tonight I'm having chicken and rice with another apple and some veggies. I can still salvage this day.

I have had a hard transition off of CICO (and cheating all the time with CICO) into No S for what I hope will be the last time. I want so badly to do No S, get it right, and it become my normal.

I understand the CICO mindset! I have done that on and off for years! For me its impossible to do both at the same time (No S and calorie counting) Although I have tried! :D

It sounds like you are on the right track, AND good for you for not just having the WTH effect and giving up, and still working on having 2 sustaining meals.

Ah those cashews. I had to be really honest with myself and admit that if cashews are in the house I just eat them until they are all gone. Of course, you have to eat something when food options are limited.

Arg. I feel like I've just completely ruined this week. I am craving sweets so so badly. I can go without snacks generally, but my sweet tooth is killing me. I think I am still rebounding from the extreme deprivation of the colonoscopy prep. There's a part of me that just wants to start No S next week with a clean slate.

And I feel ya on the cashews, ladybird! I love them and cashew ice cream is so rich and delicious!

Sorry you're feeling so pulled by sweets. It's SO easy to reinforce the habit of obeying the craving, but if I may, try to remember that the survival drive can make it FEEL really important to eat concentrated sweet, but it's a ruse. You're getting plenty to eat at meals, right? That doesn't mean you won't feel urges, but it makes it easier (at least it did for me) to tell myself that there was no GOOD reason to give in. And very good reason not to, not the least of which is it's exactly the best time to rewire the brain. Ride the wave! You can do it, and you will feel so good when your head hits the pillow at night and again when you wake up the next day.

But if you cave, mark it and move on! Drama makes it more likely to repeat. Hugs!

Good to see you back again.

I try to eat nutritious meals. Whether that curbs hunger or not I don't know, but it is a good thing to do in itself. I still need enough calories tho, or else I get very hungry.

Let us know how you go.

Hi all! I have gained all the weight I lost back which sucks. As part of my eating disorder recovery, I am not weighing myself right now. I am trying to stick with No S for recovery purposes. Happy to be here. I hope you're all doing well!

First day back to No S. AGAIN. Sigh. I really wish I would quit signing up for WW. I DO NOT WANT TO COUNT POINTS FOREVER. And if I wouldn't do it forever, why do it for even one day more?

Green Day

B: Atkins shake + banana

L: Mexican shrimp bowl + 1 tortilla chip with queso

D: Chicken and hummus with pita bread and apple

WIW result: 191.8 (+.7 from last week, but I'm fine with that. Fluctuations and all)
