But I am noticing with each failure I am learning something or getting better.
Good for you!!!
There's something about writing these posts which can make it hard to read the tone of the person...
Somehow, I was just seeing this big red
Failure
at the top and it seems really dismal, and devoid of hope! LOL...
Glad you are feeling optimistic and only using the language to track your 21 days... Within each success there is failure, within each failure there is success.. Nothing is one hundred percent black or white...
I noticed that I turned down a number of sweets without a problem. In the past I would have eaten them all in in order to prepare for the next diet.
Wow!!! Thanks for writing this... I am sure that plenty of people think this way... It's pretty insane psychology but it does seem to happen with yo yo dieters... How much healthier is moderate consumption of treats?
Way better eh?
Look, I really suggest that you don't tamper with the S days mentally...
If it turns out that you don't feel especially like eating any special treats, then, by all means, don't... But to know that this is your steam valve and way to just take a day off, is a very helpful tool in getting through the N days... Maybe you don't feel you earned it yet or something with these "failed" days, but I say you should just enjoy your weekend and then focus on rolling up your shirtsleeves this Monday...
Keep up the good work.. NoS is worth putting in the continued perseverence through the ups and downs, because it is soooo easy to do, mentally, once you have the basic habits down... Most people, myself included, have one *killer* S...
Sweets for some, snacks for others...
Mine was always seconds... I've been here for one and a half years and have found that even my seconds beast has tamed somewhat, but those others are just totally under control... In the past, one bad habit would fuel the other two.. I'd have the crummy mentality, similar to your idea of binging on something in preparation for a diet, that if I screwed up in one arena, I might as well just throw in the baby with the bathwater and say to heck with it all...
I never used to drink soda as a kid, and one year when my eating got totally out of control, I all of a sudden, started drinking coke too.. This sure didn't help my waist... I ballooned up about 40 or 50 lbs over one year...
Soon after I found NoS... I really don't want to sound like a cliche, but what the heck..
I feel like NoS has really saved my life... Women get heart attacks too, and I was up in the 230's range at only 5'3"... Yo!
Okay, sorry this has turned into a mini rant about me!
LOL..
Good luck on the 21 days! Include the two S days once you start getting in successful days, because you deserve it just like the rest of us...
If you get in five good N days, those weekend days are like a mini intermission, and a way of getting recharged to do five more... Much easier to think of these "mini" goals, rather than 21 N days in a row.. That isn't what we are supposed to do.. LOL..
Peace and Love,
Deb
