So far so good:

E: 16lb shug this morning, followed by some extra ab work:

B: Piece of whole grain toast with almond butter

L: Salad with grilled chicken

D: ??? (something good 'n good for me...)

W: Currently hovering around 200lbs. (At 5'6" that's what you'd politely call "stocky") Hope to peel down to 170ish... Then I'll post my before and after pics.

No sweets today! :P

PS.. the correct terminology for NoS devotees is
"Before and During"
Since according to our Reinhard
"After is when you're dead"
LOL!!!!

deb:

16lbs felt tough in a good way.... thanks. I stand corrected: I will send in my "during" pics... when during means closer to my goal weight!

As for the arm wrestling, you'd better let me hit the hammer for a while first... 'cause if I arm wrestle you now, I'll be out of shuggin' commission! :D

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the feedback,

kid

PS: Dinner: 1/2 Patty melt, side of green beans, 1 lite beer (you didn't see that last entry  )

Not so good today. :?

B: Whole grain bagel with peanut butter, coffee (not bad, but it gets worse)

L: Italian beef sandwich with peppers. No sides, no seconds, no sweets.

D: Gyro sandwich, salad, coleslaw, two lite beers (ugh), no sweets.

E: No shovel today. Sore from the 16lber. I can only do about half the reps, but I do like burn. I'll have to do it Saturday morning.

Feelin' flat today. A lot of "should'ves" running through my head. I don't want to be hard on myself... but, if I want to really lose the 30 pounds, I've got to be better... this posting provides strong incentive and accountability. Congrats to all the successes posted today... and don't give up to all the failures... tomorrow we'll rock.

I'm sorry Kid, but that was an entirely kosher NoS day...
You can safely call it, without any worries, a success...

PS... YOU WILL LOSE your thirty pounds!!!!
Just be patient... May I remind you that this is for life..
I have lost thirty pounds and gained it back more than three or four times in my adult life... NoS is the first time I've lost weight and known in all earnest, that it won't come back.. I've lost somewhere around 25 lbs with this plan, though it's taken me about 14 months.. Some people here have lost a lot more, but again, it's with time and patience... Think conservative..
You may only lose 20 lbs-30 lbs in a year.. But don't expect it to happen in a month.. The regular diets out there will set you up to believe that weight loss in that amount of time is normal and expected, but that's a load of crap.. The crap part comes further down the road when you can no longer maintain your loss because whatever about that quick loss diet becomes unenjoyable and then you go "off" it and gain it all back...
Unless you have two beers with dinner for seven nights of the week, I wouldn't be at all phased or even concerned....
Tis nothing...

You are doing great! This isn't about being an unpleasant grind towards a goal... This is about the way you wish to eat for a lifetime...
Remember that!
YOU ROCK NOW!!!

Stay Tuff!!!
Peace and Love,
8) Deb

D: Pizza (one plate, 4 squares)
Nothing wrong with that! It doesn't even merit the wonky face!

Looks like you're doing pretty well overall, Kid. I wouldn't worry about it so much.

3 big slices from a pizza pie go over the edges a little, but they fit! O_o

Don't worry about the portions yet! Reinhard has advised me thus as well. Portions will come to you. I'm in my 3rd week and already my tummy can only take about half of what it could because it spends so much time resting! (Notice positive thinking here - I am not saying empty!)

You can do it, even with the pizza.
The best thing to do _IF_ you continue to feel guilty after being told not to worry is buy the 1.absolute best, 2.tastiest, 2.5. gourmet if thats your thing, 3.expensive pizza and invite some friends over so there's no leftovers to tempt you. Then you can really enjoy the pizza, and you won't be so tempted to fill up on the plain old stuff later in the week..

Ganbatte (good luck/do your best)

B: 1/2 spinach and egg breakfast panini (I'm gettin' a panini maker!)

D: 1 taco, 1 tamale

3/3:

B: nuttin' (coffee) probably should've eaten, but I just didn't feel hungry.

Monday 3/6:

E: None (but I did on Saturday :? )

B: None

L: Cup of chicken dumpling soup. Very salty.

D: 1/2 Cheesburger, cup of coleslaw, some green beans, 1 Coors Light.

Tuesday 3/7:

E: SG, Abs

B: None

L: Mixed veggies, mixed fruit

I'm feeling the best I've felt in a long time. I feel like I'm starting to tighten up. Also, it's getting much easier for me to cut down on portions-- especially at restaurants. I'm starting to get two meals for the price of one by taking home half of what I eat for lunch the next day.
