Ok, this could also be filed under stupid questions if there was such a forum on Reinhearts list. But here goes. What is the difference between a blog and something like this which is a message board? Are they really one and the same? Is a blog just a message board renamed? I understand that a blog is a weblog and thus the name blog but what's the difference? Are email lists also called blogs now? I thought I was up with the times and all. But when this blog thing came about I wondered if I was. I mean, this question has been plaguing me for a while now.

Blog is short fro Weblog, and is akin to an online diary, generally maintained by one person or a small group. This here thingummy is a discussion forum, where anyone can contribute and reply.

A bllog will often have a 'comments' section, where other folk can respond to the the blogger's opinions, but only the blogger can start a fresh posting.

This is my version of events, anyway. Anyone else may feel free to contradict/flame/deify me.
