Those 5 lbs...
Are gone! I've been trying to lost the 5 lbs. I gained freshman year since my sophomore year of college! (I'm 29 now.) For most of the last decade, trying to get rid of those 5 lbs. involved gaining another 10 or 15 on top of them, plus getting compulsive about food. About 7 months of 100% plain vanilla No S, and I'm at my college freshman weight for the first time in a decade. And, even more importantly, I think I've broken my binging habit (really just an unpleasant side-effect of the dieting habit) FOR GOOD.
I still screw up a fair amount...logging in 2-4 red days per month on average...but those screw-ups aren't binges.
Yay! Just wanted to add a testimonial that it's possible even to lose a small amount of "vanity weight" on No S, with some persistence.
And, more than that, I want to say how grateful I am that someone has invented a way (or rather, rediscovered and reemphasized, a way) of eating that just kills the binge/starve pattern that causes so many women in particular so much misery. Yay for structure and the traditional 3 meals a day!

Such a good point about how binge eating can be a side effect of a dieting habit. Way to go - thanks for posting this!Mary wrote:And, even more importantly, I think I've broken my binging habit (really just an unpleasant side-effect of the dieting habit) FOR GOOD.

Congratulations and thanks for the post!
We spend so much time talking about "mods" and variants here that it's great to see another example of plain old vanilla doing the job.
