First derailment

Post by Doudou » Mon Apr 13, 2009 10:41 am

So I've been on the No S diet for a week, just! and yesterday I fell of the wagon big time! I was doing so well last week, before my 2 S days, i didn't even feel hungry, it was smooth and easy, then yesterday, after 2 S days, it was just so hard.

It was my grandma's birthday and when I went over she offered me a piece of pie, i couldn't say no, but I just ate a piece. figuring it would be ok. which is when everything collapsed (my will power I mean). after the piece came 3 small pieces of chocolate, then back home dinner WITH seconds followed by TWO ice cream bars and THREE chocolate biscuits. I was in "what the hell" mode.

Of course i felt sick, physically and emotionally and today I feel even worse.

It doesn't help that I had a bad night's sleep.

It doesn't help that one of our dogs run away and i spend the whole morning trying to find her in the neighbourhood without success.

So i'm feeling tired and sad, and when I feel sad (or stressed, tired, angry, frustrated...etc) what do I do? Eat of course. I'm hanging on so far, by a thread might I add. Hope this day gets better and I really hope I don't give in even if every fiber in me is screaming for something to stuff inside my mouth at the moment!

Going to class now (I teach) so should be ok until tonight. Tonight will be tricky. Think of me!

Sorry for the long nag post and thanks for "listening"!

You'll get better at this kind of stuff as time goes on; it's tough after just a week to stay on track! But that's the beauty of it - no need to beat yourself up, just get back on the wagon. Hope your pup comes back and stress goes down a little. Don't let it be too emotional - just get back on track. You're doing the right thing for your body and your health!

Um, yesterday was Sunday and a holiday AND your grandmother's birthday -- so an S day. No way you could fall off the wagon. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Thanks marleah and wosnes for your replies.

wosnes, maybe i should've mentioned that my S days are Fridays and Saturdays, because I live in Kuwait and these are the weekend days. Also I didnt consider my grandma's birthday an S day because I only started the monday before, so it didn't seem like a smart think to do. Anyway, I'm trying to "mark the day and move on"...:)

An S day is an S day no matter when you start! Your grandma's birthday only comes once a year. The fact that it came right after you started isn't a problem -- it won't happen again until next year.
