Red or Green - splitting meals?

Post by Aleria » Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:04 pm

So today, I decided to try eating lunch at home rather than between classes as I usually do (I have an odd schedule, so I leave home at 1-ish, and have a break at 3. I ended up not having enough time to eat all my lunch, so I threw some into a thermal jar, and am now eating it on my break..
I only just realized this is probably a red day, but I'm not sure since it's the same amount I was originally going to eat, just at two different times..

There are some who will say it's red because it's not what you eat, it's when. There are others who will say it's green. I say -- who cares?

I'd count it as green.. its what you originally plated for yourself, and you didn't add more food to it, so it's really "virtual plating" but in a thermos :)

No biggie!
Keep sight of the big traps of just snacking all day long etc..
Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it unless you find this happens often and is actually a problem.

But big picture, I think you might find it EASIER to stick with unambiguous one-plate-at-one-time meals. Same amount of food, maybe, but less head scratching.

Okay, thanks. I don't plan on trying that again. I think it's better for me to eat between classes.

Well, I wouldn't call that a fail myself. You'd "plated" it, so to speak.

Reinhard is right about what's easiest.

I'm finding myself confronted with a weird problem in terms of No-S lately. Once a week, my husband teaches an evening class. He doesn't like a full meal before class, but we like to have the family sit down together and touch base.

I make tea, old-fashioned English style with little sandwiches or some cheese and fruit, or sliced veggies. I have this on little bread plates. I could choose to eat a full plate of tea thing, certainly, but it does spoil the ritual, so I don't. Instead, I will have tea with the family, then another small plate of the same size later if I get hungry. (Sometimes I don't, but that's pretty darn rare!)
