> - it's less antisocial and weird than walking around mumbling to yourself (though with all the cellphones I guess no one bats an eye anymore). You can do it during meetings. D..but just be careful you don't walk into a tree or bus, like people on cell phones :) ...Meetings?,,,hmmm, nice one, kindof like secretly passing notes in class :) > - it's a great way to manage to-do lists, especially if you follow this rule: 1 day's tasks shall fit on one card. D...thing #28 to do today,,,buy more cards...Actually I like this one because if you have older members of the family to help you can actually delegate some of these chores or to-do's to them...Sounds like a game and makes it more fun.. > - you can draw D...I love that one :) > What are the cons? > > - It's hard to write while you're walking. D...Very. Infact trash this whole idea of parambulating and writing :) LOL! It will either get you squashed under a bus while crossing the street or make your walk take ten times as long because of all the time you spend trying to find mailboxes to lean on as a writing table. > - speech is more natural than writing. It's more > satisfying to speak. You really feel like you are > unburdening yourself. D...I think that it is a great study aid to use cards, and probably would be good for compiling the various and numerous gems that fall from your lips onto your taperecorder for later organization...then you can have both worlds, the rambling crazy guy talking to himself "train of thought" ideas, and then the more refined version on cards later...I learned in Neurology that the more ways that you can use when learning something new, ie: drawing, making up a poem, or song, some sort of game, the more your brain will put it into long term memory > I think it clearly beats the pants off of plain old > notebook, but I'm not so sure I'm ready to retire my > microrecorders just yet. D...Those cheap Radio Shack ones will keep on dissapointing you, so consider something digital maybe a bit more money but you would save money on tapes too. I'm sure he'd think this was vulger and awful and his estate would sue me if I ever tried to include it in a book of systems, but literary pedophiles and their estates be damned, this is the world wild web, and I like it. D...Ah, they would probably go for it if you put pictures of nymphomaniacs on the back of the index cards :) Rein, for about two years I had to drive deliveries for a restaurant...I would write down all the names of bands or songs that I'd hear on the radio...New releases, movies to rent...etc... This system would have been great for me back then. I wound up with a lunchbag filled with paper scraps, which at the time seemed VERY important (LOL) to me...Meanwhile,,,the end result was that they were lost forever. If only I had my Nabocards! Deb Probably other literary sorts will like that name, to me it sounds like a science fiction version of Trivial Pursuit :) |
