new mod for s days... eat only when hungry
What do you all think? Lately I have slipped into grazing mode on sdays, maybe due to the holidays. Wonder if this can help me lose my few holiday pounds?

Hi MJ,
That is actually what I do on S days. Unless there's a pretty yummy snack, and I can sit down and enjoy it, I try to wait until I'm hungry. Basically, I try to still eat just three meals a day. I tend to put my snacks and sweets on the plate and eat them instead of normal food that day!
But this works for me because it is a self-rewarding cycle of pleasurable eating experienced by waiting a little bit. If it makes you feel deprived, I would not do it! S Days are our release valve from the practice of building our N Day habits.
I'm sure the holiday weight will come off without trouble if you just give it some time.

That actually sounds a little strict. What will you do if it's dinner time and you're not hungry?
However, if you get hungry often enough to be happy, then it could work. By experimenting, you'll find out.
Theoretically, you're not doing a lot of eating on S days unless you're hungry. That's what the "sometimes" is about. S's are for a little frivouous snack or one at a special occasion, the special experience of a sweet, the occasional getting pretty full on something really luscious. It can take a long time to get there. But what's the alternative?
I'm finding more and more that getting tired of the freedom of eating is an effective antidote to extra eating. It becomes clear how often it really isn't necessary when it used to seem so crucial.

Tried it out and it worked pretty well. I do get hungry a lot so it wasn't a problem. I think I will keep this up. It is not really a mod, as I will still eat if it is mealtime even if I am not extremely hungry, but I think this idea helps keep mindless eating under wraps.

I agree it's not a mod, but just a natural progression. I think No S is supposed to help us appreciate hunger for our meals more and realize it's worth waiting for, even on S days, with exceptions...sometimes.
