Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

I am going to work on this too. Even though from past dieting experience I know that my body feels better with certain foods I want to find a way to incorporate things I really like. I think we can find a balance between things our body needs and things we just like to eat because they taste so darn good.

Thanks, automatedeating!

I'm currently in bed, while my kids are watching tv in the next room. My 7-year-old is great about watching his sister when needed. I took a nap when my daughter was taking hers, but I'm still pretty wiped out. I had French onion soup topped with mozzarella and a diet Coke for lunch. Yummy!

Oh definitely, sick days are S days. I think it's important to do whatever you need to do to feel better. I often find I need more food when I have a cold to get over the tiredness. That said, I try not to eat too many sweets.

Get better soon!!

Thanks for the encouragement, eschano. I only had a little ice cream, and then grazed the rest of the day. Too bad every week of the No S diet couldn't have 3 S days in a row. I'm feeling a bit better today, so no S day for me.

Breakfast:
Egg and cheese sandwich with mayo and mustard on whole wheat
Diet Coke (MY PRECIOUS!)
