Not me. Don't have enough of a social life to justify eating all day.

Thanksgiving, sometimes Christmas eve day, and Christmas day are the only days I think eating all day is appropriate.

True, but you don't have to eat all day for it to be an S day. I was kinda kidding about that part.
So, any single or multiple desserts, snacks, or seconds on the 4th?

Yes! It was an S Day for me! And all that meant was that I grazed at the neighborhood potluck, drank too much, and had a dessert.

Yep for me. All my now-grown children were here.
I ate a doughnut mid-morning.
Lunch was an extremely healthy fresh-from-the-garden salad.
Dinner was fuller than typical, steak from the grill, but still well within NoS bounds.
Later we watched neighbors' fireworks and had a bonfire. The killer splurge was pineapple delight cooked in the coals, an over-the-top sweet recipe one of my sons introduced us to a few years ago. So far it has been a once-a-year treat that is completely worth taking an S day for!
It was interesting this year to realize that what I *really* enjoy is the family time around the fire and the experience of *preparing* the treat more so than the eating of it.
Wow! Who could ever imagine such a thing???

Sure, Catservant.
For each individual portion, start with a square of aluminum foil.
In the center, place a pat of butter and about 1 tablespoon brown sugar.
Top with a drained pineapple slice, then a plain doughnut.
Add another layer of brown sugar and butter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
Fold two opposite corners of the foil in, then roll the other two corners together to seal the package and twist together to form a handle.
Use tongs and the handle to place each package on the bed of hot coals.
Leave just long enough to melt the butter and heat through (about 5-10 minutes depending on how hot the fire is).
Remove from coals and let sit 5 minutes or so, the hardest but most important part!
Carefully open package and eat. You'll probably want to use a fork, and make extra sure it's not still too hot.
My quick and dirty estimate comes to 500-600 calories each, depending upon just how generous you are with the butter. Definitely a recipe to save for a Capital S day!

I had an extra (veggie) corn dog, it being an S day. But for dessert, I made the kids a no-sugar red-white-and-blue fruit salad, with ripe strawberries, blueberries, and real whipped cream; and they said they liked it better than the sugared version! Note to self: real food is tastier, even for kids.
Happy fail day today; husband came home from his trip and cooked dinner for us. And I had seconds. Back on the wagon tomorrow.

I did not but only because nothing special came up that I wanted. We were out camping, and our eating is generally healthier then because it is self prepared. Now if anyone had wanted to go to the fish fry at the camping center that day, I would have probably (over)indulged for at least that one meal.
The journey is the reward.
