justannie, Thankyou for your warm greetings, I hope that the pounds will melt off of me like yours are. I feel good doing no s. Like many people have mentioned, when we are going to have 3 real meals per day...we sure make them balanced and make them last till the next. This has been the biggest cha...

I eat a lot of things like soup, yogurt, canned pineapple, and oatmeal that just don't play well with other foods on one single plate. I have a set of 4-oz (half-cup) ramekins that I use for these things. I usually put the ramekins on a dinner plate and fill in around them. That is what I do with m...

I have these little bowls for cereal.(actually they are a real 1 serving size for cereal etc...hold about a cup of soup or cereal) In the morning I actually put it on my plate...there is room to the side if I would like an egg and toast too. I find that if the soup bowl is way too big...then that re...

iu, I am happy...for one of the first times in my life..(as far as food is concerned) It is funny, I don't crave sweets or junk. Because I know when I can have them and it is very clear cut. I don't even have to ask myself if I should cheat or not. There is no cheating....just eating! I am so happy ...

IU, It sounds like the people that replied to your post on the other forum were treating Atkins like a religion of sorts. People get very defensive when you challenge their beliefs, even when you have a valid argument. It takes religious willpower to stick with such a restrictive plan like atkins......

iu, don't worry, the carb obsession will fade. My daughters were teasing me of when they remembered that by the campfire a few years ago...I wouldn't lick the marshmallow off of my fingers when I roasted one for my young son. I was worried about the carbs and staying in ketosis. ARRGH the time waste...

I'm new since last week..finally a formal introduction
Hi everyone, I have about 15 pounds to lose. I have tried I think every diet out there. I have never been very overweight...probably because of my never-ending obsession with my "food accounting ledger" as reinhard would put it. :) I have counted, weighed, measured, deleted food groups (all you form...

Hi space_mom, I have pretty much been really successful in the no snacking thing. I had 2 cookies that I baked yesterday...but really because I am testing a new recipe for my company. If you only know how many cookies I bake per day...and I have only eaten 2 in the past week. I just don't crave them...

Hi, I'm new here too...and I feel the same way as a previous poster mentioned (if I know I have to make it to the next meal...I make healthier choices) This has been the number one thing that has given me amazing energy. No more coffee and bagel mornings! It just doesn't cut it. And here I had been ...

I think that no-s is ideal for me too...like space_mom said. I am tired of being a food accountant. I have kept track of every bite and calorie....I have counted every gram of carb, protein and fat......I have measured and weighed...subtracted and added. You name it...and I have surely tried it. I go...

Yay for your 1 pound down
Hi space_mom, I am glad that you lost a pound this week. you are right, on SLD it would have taken a whole lot longer. I know that we still will have fluctuations so I am not really weighing that often. I am happy that I have regained control on eating. Having no snacks means that I get to feel real...

Hi space_mom, Well, I am really getting into this no-s thing. I have a very full breakfast...2 egg omelet with ham, mushroom, green peppers and onion , whole grain toast w/butter, and 1/2 cup of yogurt with fruit and coffee. it keeps me going very energetically until 3 or 4....I start to feel real h...

Hey Space_mom its JennZenn....day 1 no s!!!
Hi Space_Mom, I joined no s upon your advice. I realized that I go too long between eating and then I would snack at night. I usually eat breakfast around 9 AM and then I would try to eat lunch at 1 and then supper at 5 because I work between 6 and 9 in the studio. I now am going to eat breakfast at...
