I did it!!

Day 20 (Mon) -- SUCCESS! Day 21 (Tues) -- SUCCESS! :D Hooray! I made it through 21 successful days on the No-S plan. It's definitely gotten easier to stay on plan. Even today, I was going to let myself splurge, but at lunch there wasn't a goodie that I really wanted to eat, so I just skipped it. :sh...

Hi chocho, The first week is definitely the hardest. I think I had 2 green days the first week I tried it, too (but I lost a couple of pounds that week, too, so the effort is still worthwhile). My first successful week was hard, but it definitely gets easier as you get used to it. What helped me aro...

At least now my "bad" weight days are 5 pounds less than they were a few months ago. Hopefully, the trend will continue. I got ba...

Hi Blueskighs! Thanks for the encouragement -- it's good to hear from you. Day 8 (Wed) -- SUCCESS Made it through a picnic for my kids' afterschool group without eating (it was way too early to last me through the rest of the evening!). Just had some water. Day 9 (Thurs) -- SUCCESS This is as far as...

Day 6 -- SUCCESS

Made it through. Wow -- there are some tough times to get through some days. I've added ice tea to my arsenal, especially since the temps have been stuck at 100 or more for the last few days! This is getting me through, tho', which is surprising (but good!).

Hey, look at that, an added benefit of No-S is that by god, I'll never by dehydrated! Oh, also, I found the personal olympics thread today. What a good point about the tendenc...

Oh, sadness. Day 10 -- Failure . Today was another off day -- I was at a conference today. I wound up not eating enough at lunch and wound up snacking before dinner. And insult to injury, then we got ice cream after dinner. (I had already blown it for the day, you see.) Argh. Well, the ice cream was...

Well, I took it extra easy after reading all the stories of being so unbelievably sore! I have two kids -- I can't afford not to be able to lift my arms! Thanks for the input -- now that I'm up to 14 minutes (we'll see how the arms are in the morning!) I'll increase the reps, etc. Have a good ...

THanks for the response. Yeah, I'm sure the 8 lb hammer isn't too light -- I can barely lift my arms for about 30 mins after. Today I did my first 14 minute session -- hooray! I'll try increasing the reps (though on some, I'm not sure I could increase it much). Good to hear your experience with this...

New, but not sore. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there, I completed my first week of shugging and I really like it. I'm doing the basic moves (shovel, chop, churn, lever), plus the tricep lift. As a woman, I like that this is such a strong upper body workout. So, my question is this. I read over and over how sore people are after shugging for t...

Day 7 -- SUCCESS !!! Hooray for my first successful week with No-S! Last week was just amazingly hard, but this week has been much better. I think tracking must be part of it. Working toward my first 21 successful days

Checking in. I've been getting lots of good advice on the boards. I'm ready to start tracking my first successful 21 no-S days.

Day 1 -- SUCCESS.
Trying a cup of hot tea around 3pm really seemed to help get me through till dinner time.

Blueskighs and Brianna,

Thank you both for your help. I suppose it's time to learn to trust the system and take that leap (eat enough to make it to the next meal). It's also a matter of learning to trust that my body will figure out what it needs.

Here goes!

You make a good point about making sure to eat enough. I think in the back of my mind I'm afraid I'll stretch my stomach out and then be starving all the time if I eat bigger meals. Sounds like good advice to focus on the "what" and not the "how much" I'm eating. That said, I did make some hot tea t...

Thank you all for this topic. I'm on my first week of attempting No-S, and I'm not having much success yet (only one Green day so far). What's getting me is the long wait between lunch and dinner at our house. Lunch is around noon, and dinner isn't until 7ish. I've been having some almonds (7-8 ) th...
