Well I'm back. A few days of traveling on the road equaled a lot of failure in my NO-S attempts. Driving late into the night often means that we don't stop for meals and instead pack veggies and nuts and fruit and eat when we're hungry. Sometimes that is 3 AM and you're eating sunflower seeds to hel...

Weight: 130.6 Thank you everyone! I appreciate the encouragement. My husband gives me a kick in the butt when I need one, but I never give him credit. :) I feel much better today, not so discouraged. We have a long drive today so it will be tough not to snack when bored, but my husband is dieting an...

Melissa's Daily Check-In

I did No-S two years ago and failed just shy of 21 days. I thought I would jump right back on the wagon but for some reason, I didn't. I would have been shocked to know it would be two years and ten more pounds before starting it again. I love the No-S habit. But instead I've cultivated an attitude ...

Wow, this is really difficult to start up again. For the past three days all I've been thinking is that I'm back at day 1, so why not put it off one more day? I know, it's dumb... Anyway, today is the new day 1! Yay! It was hard to come back on here because I'm kind of embarrassed. When I have a fai...

Well, I fell off the wagon for a week! My family came to visit Brian and me in NC and all seven of us had a GREAT time. Being so busy, I didn't make time to update... or eat right. BUT I am starting again. Will post a success day tomorrow! Thanks for missing me, emilypop.

I shared some cobbler with my husband. I was thinking to myself, so what if today (Friday) is my s-day? Am I going to cry over unconsumed calories?!? So I didn't get to binge all day because it was an s-day - so what? That's what got me here in the first place! So today was an s-day and I had an s-d...

I'm having a dilemma. Tonight my husband and I are going over to a neighbor's house for a barbecue. This neighbor - an older gentleman - is so excited and has called me several times to tell me the guest list, the menu, and the time of the party (has given me all this info numerous times). He added ...

Hopeful, don't apologize for that. No one is disappointed if you aren't. Part of the point of no-s is learning that snacks and sweets are fine in moderation. It's not like you ate a whole cake - you had a candy bar. I don't think that posting on this board is meant to provoke some kind of guilt trip...

You are doing great! I am so impressed that you have lost over 15 pounds! And that "failure" a couple of days ago was nothing... I know if I had a failure like that, I'd immediately chuck it all and eat the rest of the bag of candy. GOOD JOB!!!

I totally know what you mean about the 8-rating for a snack. It feels like the biggest victory to be able to stomp that.

There will always be skinnier people. Your goal should be to look YOUR best, and you're doing something about it. Good job. :)

It's hard for me to suggest healthy food because you mentioned you're picky. What don't you like? What do you like? I think instead of eating stuff you hate, it's a better approach to try to overhaul dishes that you do like by changing aspects about them so they're healthier. Take chili, for example...

Great job! It's such a great feeling to say you're done with food for the day! Yeah, you may be hungry-ish later, but think... if you usually eat about 200 calories in the evening after dinner (which I did), cutting that out for seventeen days will lose you a pound of consumed calories. Only 17 days...

Great job on sticking to the rules. You said that you think you'll lose weight faster if you eat healthier foods... this is true. Snacking and sugar are the two things that have gotten me out of shape over the past two and a half years. When I got married, I was in...
