Mavilu, I toally agree with you about living life to the fullest! Fall is not a huge deal to me (except for some family birthdays), but summer is the time where we get together a lot, and get to go out, so I just want to enjoy that time. I think as long as you're settled into your eating habits, the...

I hear you! There are several summer birthdays in my family, and we've had a fair share of get togethers this summer, so it has definitely been more difficult to stay on plan.
I also like the structure of No S, because it's kept me from getting too excessive with the extra eating.

Wosnes, I think that's exactly what I need -- more fat. I spent the latter part of my childhood eating a lowfat diet because my Dad was diagnosed with MS, and he was told a lowfat diet would be the best diet for him. He still eats that way, and he's had MS for almost 20 years, and is not in a wheelc...

Jumbotights, That makes sense! I may give that a try. I know for me, even going for 5 hours without eating is pushing it, and 6 hours is REALLY pushing it. Anything beyond 6, and that's when I really run into problems. So I think starting on Monday, I'll experiment with this way of eating and see if...

Thanks! So if you were to do 4 average size meals, would you suggest doing them on smaller plates? Or maybe 3 meals on a dinner plate and 1 meal on a bread plate? I counted calories for my mini meal today, but I'm thinking there's a better way to do it.

I actually need some help with this, too. I've added a 4th meal because I was getting so hungry in the afternoon, I was tired, irritable, and sometimes a little weak. The mini meal does help. For example, today's mini meal wasn't the best, but I had a carton of fat free Greek yogurt mixed with 1 T o...

I think No S is definitely a great maintenace program. It makes so much sense. It's nice to not have to think about food (other than planning what enjoyable meal you're going to eat next). I'm still working on breaking myself of the mentality of counting calories, so I'm hoping the longer I stay on ...

I haven't yet. I think part of it is because I have so little weight left to lose (5 pounds, tops), that my body is very stubbornly holding on to those last few pounds. Part of it, too, is because I left No S for awhile and just came back to it a few days ago. I know I also need to keep working on m...

Thanks! I had a feeling the applesauce wouldn't be a big deal, but I thought I'd ask. :) As far as the salad dressing goes, I agree. The stuff I'm trying is nasty, so I'm using it up as quickly as possible, so I can go back to the real dressing. I've actually found, too, that I need the fat from the...

I'm still working on my IDDs, but breakfast is either 1 C of Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 C of rice milk, one piece of whole wheat toast with Smart Balance spread and some jam, and fresh fruit (or I'll sub a couple of Morning Star sausage patties for the toast and jam). My other option I'm enjoying lately...

Question about virtual plating

My question is more about how to virtual plate pre-packaged food. For example, my normal lunch during the week is a full sandwich, a handful of raw veggies with half a condiment cup of fat free salad dressing for dip, a handful of berries, and a 3.9 oz. container of Mott's Healthy Harvest applesauce...

Mimi, You said a couple of things that really spoke to me. 1). I, too, have had a dysfunctional relationship with the scale. I don't do it in front of the TV, since I don't have TV, but I do have a decent colletction of exercise videos that I use 5 times a week. If I get in the mood to ride the recumbent bike, I'll watch one of the TV shows that I own on dvd.

Yes, isn't it great? For my lunches, I used to eat a frozen meal and maybe some fruit, so I could stay under 400 calories. Now, I'll eat a full sandwich, some veggies and dip, and a couple of small portions of fruit (as long as it fits on the plate). It's SO much more enjoyable!
