Congrats! Personally, I think you should keep up your current regimen and see where you plateau, before deciding whether or not you need to try No-S'ing again.... why No-S if you don't need to? :D

Hot herbal tea with lots of milk helps keep me going... also, really sour liquids like kombucha (but I only like some brands of it).

Did you know Kimkins turned out to be a fraud? The inventor never even followed her own diet. Lots of people got health problems from following it and now I think there's some kind of lawsuit. I read the full story at

Celebrating the end of my second three weeks on the No S diet. I had a cookie on Friday evening, so I don't think I've yet hit three straight weeks of perfect compliance. My weight is currently in the 141-145 range, which feels like a plateau, but I'm gonna push through it! UPDATE: 9/23 - hit 139 ye...

Your insight and self-reflection is really wonderful to read. I realized I have an inner brat too! Lately when it acts up and wants a "treat" I try to give it one of the other things I'm forbidding it (knitting, TV, surfing internet gossip magazines) instead of actual food . . .

Olivia - so sorry to hear about your friend. It's really painful watching someone be unhappy and knowing there's not much you can do to help unless they ask you for advice. :( Crazycatlady - thanks SO MUCH for weighing in with your professional expertise! Now that you point it out, I think what I've...

Hm... I'm starting to think this research means I need to be VERY careful about snacking on S-Days or else I will untrain my stomach.

Anyone else snack like crazy on S days and then get more hunger pangs on Monday afternoon than on other days?

How did our culture get the idea that snacking is healthy? Because I definitely feel like I was brought up that way . . . was it that "grazers are thinner" study? Or all the ads for healthy snack foods?

Oh totally. Nothing makes me hungry faster than eating refined carbs, not even not-eating  Thing about hunger is... there are some cats you can just leave on their own for the weekend with a bowl of cat food and they'll eat the right amount each day, and yet I know some other delightful, intell...

Here’s my diet plan: Cook it yourself. That’s it. LOL wosnes - that's really witty advice... but sadly, my worst pig-outs are generally ones I've cooked myself. At what other point in life does one find oneself faced with, say, an entire pan of already-purchased, piping hot brownies baked exact...

reneew, I don't have a success story yet, but something that really spoke to me was the part in Reinhard's book where he writes about binges being a form of self-punishment and self-harm. I have never been a particularly spiritual person in the past, more an "If there is no god then everything is pe...

Hey, thanks reitschule. :D I think you make an insightful point that No S is an easier to comply with and more joyous diet than the alternatives. No S Diet and antidepressant related weight gain?

So I must confess, my weight was stable till I started taking antidepressants four years ago - once I started, I gained 20 pounds in less than a year (still have the stretch marks) and my weight has just kept on going up since then. So um, does anyone know if No S works for chemically induced weight...

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for 21 days now, but I am so grateful for you guys for being my virtual support group that I thought I would come out and say hello. I am a 31yo female, 5'5.5", and I started No S three weeks ago at my lifetime highest weight of 149 lbs. The BMI charts list that weight...
