First reality check?

Hi everyone, I've been on NoS for about 1 month now. When I started I decided I would only weigh myself once per month because I easily get frustrated and discouraged. I don't know how you all weigh yourselves every day or even every other day and you don't seem to let it get you down! Anyways, its ...

That's a great attitude. It says somewhere in the book (I don't have it with me right now) that it takes an average of 12 tries to change your way of eating. Just think of yesterday and the day before as 2 of your 12 tries. 8)

Good luck, don't give up!

I suppose it depends on if you are doing any mods. For vanilla no S if you ate them and they weren't on the plate you called breakfast, lunch or dinner then I'd say yes. Something like this happened to me the second day I was No Sing. I drank half of a lemonade snapple without thinking about it and ...

I personally think cough drops are pretty nasty and the strong ones don't taste that sweet. However, if you're really worried you could get the sugar free ones. But I'll warn you, you might want to just endure the cough rather than sucking on those things!!

You could do what I have started calling the "S-day slide." It's a pretty common idea, you move your S-days to Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Then Sunday afternoon you start N days again. That way you are "Sing" the same amount of time, it's just moved a little. I've done it and as long as y...

I woudln't worry about it too much. Everyone goes through different phases. Perhaps next week you'll eat alot on your S days. It will probably balance out in the end. I was surprised to find that the N day habbits got ingrained in me really really quickly (I've only been no S ing for 3 weeks). My fi...

I just wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions. I forgot to add the detail that the food at the meeting will be what I would call "full meal" food such as pizza, chinese or sandwiches, not snacks. I think that bringing a drink and reminding myself that thin people don't eat in the presence of o...

Why is EVERY gathering of people an excuse to eat!?!?!?

I was just informed that I need to attend a new series of weekly meetings. The meetings size is relatively small (about 8-10 people) and at 3 in the afternoon. Today someone announced that they will be ordering food and asked people what they preferred. I was thinking "why in the world do we need fo...

Wow. That part of that that really got me was: “[T]he absolute preference for taste sweetness may lead to a re-ordering in the hierarchy of potentially addictive stimuli, with sweetened diets. . . taking precedence over cocaine and possibly other drugs of abuse.†Digest that for a moment. Sweetne...

I have decided to weigh myself only once a month. The reason is exactly what you guys are describing. Previously when I've dieted I would weigh myself 1-2x per week. The problem was when I saw a tiny fluctuation, as little as 0.5 lb I would feel like all my hard work was for nothing. That would lead...

Homemade bread is the best isn't it 8) ? My fiance and I just started making our own bread and it blows the stuff in the supermarket out of the water in every way. What kinds have you made? We've made oatmeal and wheat berry, both were delicious by the way. We're working on whole wheat sour dough no...

January Challenge

Hi everyone! My name is Shannah and I just started the No S diet. I started this diet because I'm sick of really complicated diets that don't allow me to eat certain foods, and require a lot of work. I never stick to them for more then 1-2 months and I always gain back the weight I lost and more! No...
