If your scale was off, it's hard to know how much you lost. I'm sorry you're feeling No S isn't getting you where you want. How's your exercise! It's such a smart way to live, it seems it would be worth it to see if there is a way to work with the structure. I haven't read all your posts, so forgiv...

Ok, I guess you can tell I haven't checked in or done my HabitCal in awhile  I got frustrated because I'd gotten down to 113 pounds, then the next week I happened to think to make sure the scale was set right on 0 before I got on (it wasn't, I had to move it up) and it read 117 pounds. So eith...

Setting a weight goal

I'm trying to decide what my ideal weight should be. When I look at the various tables for my age (26) and height (4' 11") I get anything from 85-124 pounds. So technically by the most liberal definition, I've never even been overweight, yet I have this big soft belly and none of my jeans fit anymor...

For what it's worth, my opinion is non-sugary beverages are fine (still trying to kick the sugary beverage habit myself).

I had a stomach bug a couple weeks ago too. I didn't really feel like eating much at all then, though. I usually don't want to eat much when I have a cold, either (hurts to swallow with sore throat). Headaches don't interfere with my appetite, though, and like many women I tend to get cravings durin...

Oh, BTW, the one meal thing was something I've been doing off and on for years. I know No-S doesn't specify number of meals, but generally seems to assume 3.

I am using Chrome now and it is much better! :) I did wonder if perhaps I had the "metabolism slowing down cause I'm not eating enough" thing happening. I'm sure I would feel better if I ate a little more, but now I'm almost scared to cause I'm FINALLY losing (I lost another 3 pounds this week, brin...

This is my 6th week nos-ing and after staying stable the first 4 weeks, I've now lost 5 lbs in these last 2 weeks. So naturally I'm feeling a bit better about the whole thing now. It's strange, most people go on diets and lose a few lbs right away, then stall out, it seems I sorta did the opposite.

Finally losing, but still frustrated

I've been no-sing for one month now and I've finally lost a grand total of...2 whole pounds. Which I'll prolly gain back this week, especially since I've had 2 fails in a row and I feel absolutely STARVING. I mean, since I try to stick to one meal a day (cause I'm very short and also sedentary and t...

Well, the last couple weeks of no-sing have been easy...because I've had stomach flu. :( But I'm hoping things will still be easier after I get better. BTW, my last 4 weekly weigh-ins (I do it on Wednesday, I had this idea that "Wacky Weigh-in Wednesday" might sound fun) have all been the same: 118 ...

Re: Cake

I think that the important thing is clarity. I'm not sure why but reading your post gave me the idea that at the time you ate the cake you considered it a cheat. If it's a red day in your mind then call it a red day but don't beat yourself up over it. So it's a red day, treasure the memory of the c...

I would have marked it an S-day. Since all you had was a piece of cake, and it was for your birthday, and you didn't take advantage of the fact that you had cake to eat sweets for the rest of the day, I think an S-day would be o.k. Maybe I'm not strict enough, but if I had called it a failure, in m...

Is this failure?

I already marked my birthday (May 4th) as an S-day on my HabitCal. But today a friend came over and brought me a birthday cake early and we had some. Today wasn't originally supposed to be an S-day for me, but it would have seemed really strange for me to have refused the cake. I haven't had any oth...

Contrary to my weekend prediction, Monday was the hardest day, while Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty easy. Mom even brought home some cherr...

Success Friday, I made it through my first week! On Saturday I did have a bowl of sugary cereal and some of that coffee cake (finally!). Sunday was a cinnamon bun and a whole bunch of popcorn, which would've been OK if it had been plain popcorn, but it was the regular buttery kind. Friday was easie...

SUCCESS yesterday and today. It's been hard, though. No more candy temptation cause I finished it off on Tuesday, but I was hungry all day yesterday and today. :( Maybe working in another meal will help, but in the past it hasn't. I seem to want 3 meals, can only lose weight on 1, so it hardly seem...

FAIL!!!! Well, my second day and I screwed up already! :x Think from now on I'll try putting the candy away in a drawer or something-they say "Out of sight=Out of mind", maybe "Out of sight=Out of mouth" too! At least I resisted the coffee cake, that counts for something, right?

MarieDe's Daily Check In

I made it through my first N day! SUCCESS!!!!! Those Swedish Fish and the coffee cake in my kitchen are gonna keep staring at me all week though. I'll be amazed if I make it to Saturday, but at least with nos I can just tell myself "Wait" instead of a flat-out "No".

My first N day, OK (so far)

I started NoS-ing over the weekend, but I've been reading up on it since last week. It's funny how quickly I've started thinking this way, like last night I was having lasagne for dinner and I thought "Now you better take a big piece, cause now you're doing NoS and that means no seconds." Then I tho...

Yeah, I think eating that stuff on a daily basis like I'd been doing is a bad idea, but a small bowl once in awhile is prolly OK (I don't have trouble controlling the amount I eat with this, I guess cause I think of it as "food" as opposed to candy and cookies which I do tend to binge on cause I thi...

Does sugary cereal count as an S?

I wonder about this cause I love sugary cereal. This and sweetened beverages are 2 things I'm gonna have trouble with because they're a regular part of my daily eating routine.

Being vertically challenged

This is just my little rant about the difficulties of dieting as a "petite" woman. I'm 4'11' and small-boned, so my body hardly needs any calories to maintain itself, and guess where the extras go? Yep, the gut and the butt, every time. I'm not exactly sure how many calories I need, but I know I've ...

Hi, I'm new too! And I'm 4'11' (and 118 lbs), so I know how frustrating it can be trying to lose weight when you're smaller built-so little leeway in terms of daily calories. But for me it's extra-challenging, because I am disabled (CP), so my exercise options are really limited.
