Success. Had to eat out for dinner, but nothing excessive (ate at one of the few places around that actually provides reasonable portion sizes).
Walked to work too (~1 hour walk). It was too late to walk home today (dark) but hopefully will do it tomorrow.

I think what you're saying is some good advice, and I agree with it. Hi Christi, It sounds to me like you've really made big changes in your lifestyle and you should be proud of that, even if you've slipped a bit. It's pretty obvious to me that if you find the foods you loved before taste bad, you've changed yourself. You didn't gain all of your weight back, either, ...

Hi Michele, Thanks for offering your support on my posting in the main discussion. Sounds like you did a good job of restraint on the cookies. Just looking at your log, you might want to up the protein/fiber/veg content if you're having hunger issues. (While I *do* struggle with eating issues, I've ...

Hi everybody, Finally I didn't have to take painkillers today, and can pretty much swallow normally. I also had enough energy to do a ton of cooking so I'll have home-cooked food to eat throughout the week. Hopefully I'll be back on the routine. It's good to see that I'm not the only shorty who find...

Feeling like Sisyphus
Hi, I'm feeling a bit like Sisyphus, the guy from Greek mythology who was condemned to roll a huge rock up a hill forever; it would always escape him and roll back down to the bottom, so he'd have to do it again. And again. And again. I guess with No S, as with almost any weight loss I've attempted,...

Hey Christi, It sounds like you're doing really well. Good job! As far as activities to do with your boys that are indoors, how about swimming at the community pool? It's fun, good exercise, and easy on the joints. I'm not sure of your fitness level, but two others that are fun are ice-skating at a ...

Hi Annie, Nice to see you join the check-ins. I hope they help you (they sure help me). Upping the veggies cuts my hunger, and more protein helps too. Waking up in the middle of the night starving
Has this happened to anybody here? How do you cope? I only heard of one person experiencing this, a friend of a friend who was training for competitive mountain biking (hence burning crazy calories). Weight loss doesn't always seem to proceed smoothly. I pretty much never trust a single daily value on the scale--I just try to see if the general trend is downwards over time, or at least steady. I think for females especially water weight can really fluctuate. You might be building muscle, too, de...

I'm totally with you on homemade soup. It rocks, especially during the winter. I've been eating soup regularly and have been losing weight, as well as drinking milk. Hi, I think that different things work for different people when it comes to weight loss and health. First, I don't think universally that carbs cause cravings.
