Woo hoo to silver lining weight loss! It's funny how these health challenges, if we are lucky, can be an opportunity to clean up our diets for reasons other than weight loss, and then the weight loss is a nice side effect.

Re: Pinkhippies daily check in

I'm sorry to hear you were struggling, but it is good that you are doing better now! It sounds like you are really exploring and paying attention to your body's hunger levels and figuring out what works for you. Ladybird is right, any meal is way more enjoyable when you are actually hungry for the f...

How nice that you have figured out a pattern that works for you! Sometimes I think if we can work with our natural hunger schedule, and like you, eat a bit earlier, it really helps to stick to the No-S pattern.

Re: Pinkhippies daily check in

Awww, it sounds like you struggled to get back on track after Thanksgiving - but you got back in the swing of things this week! And it gave you some valuable insight into your body's reaction to restriction. Like you, I find I have to walk a very fine line with restriction - if it tips over into too...

Despite having a tough month, you managed to maintain, which is huge, AND fit into smaller trousers - well done. If we can use our habits to keep ourselves on an even keel even in challenging periods, that is one of the most important things we can learn from No-S. Hope December is kinder to you!

Well, it is always good to know you are holding steady! I bet it will be a relief in a way to get back to normal eating next week. Thanksgiving isn't a holiday here in Belgium, just a normal weekday, so I never have to deal with the dietary fallout from it, for which I am grateful  E...

Thanks, Pinkhippie! Yes, when you look back and see how your eating habits have slowly evolved over time, it's kind of amazing. Like you, even on days when I am not in full No-S mode, the habits are so ingrained now that I follow some of them without thinking about it. Like having one plate of food,...

Re: Amy's Checking In Again

Aww, thanks Pinkhippie. I tried 5:2 back in 2012 I think when the documentary first came out, and wasn't able to sustain it then, either. I have no idea why it has clicked for me now, but I think it has something to do with slowly changing my eating habits over the past decade. For the time being, t...

Well done on resisting the stress eating - it is not easy when facing upheaval like the decision you had to make on the car. And NaNoWriMo, that is a big deal and it sounds like you are going to make it with that word count! I attempted it several times, and only managed to reach the final word coun...

Another fully green week on both alcohol and No-S! I started doing 5:2 calorie cycling this week to give myself an extra boost before the holidays - https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/what-52-diet - it's basically two days a week where you limit yourself to 500 calories, and the rest of the day...

Thanks Pinkhippie! So far still 100% on no alcohol, but the No-S side of things is another matter, although yesterday was green after the first half of the week being red. Going for a green Friday, to end the week on a high note.

I never thought of how even a small loss could have that effect, it's good you made that connection and have the awareness to know you just need to stick to the plan until your body gets settled.
