I'm still doing it! I can't say that I have many perfect days, but I'm working a Couch to 10K program again (but actually ran in a 5K race last weekend) and I'm not snacking.
I just don't seem to get on the website much. I'm certainly keeping busy!
Hey, thanks, AutomatedEating! By the way, I was just reading a post of yours about the book Born to Run. Is that the book by McDougall? I am going to check it out, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a Bruce Springsteen biography!
Today's going to be a great day. I'm working from home today and have been eating so much through the holidays that I can honestly say that I don't even feel hungry for breakfast and that is my favorite meal. I'm also going to add my starting weight and my goal weight if I can dig my scale out of st...
So for December 17, I had SUCCESS! I didn't eat lunch until 3:00, which was too late by every standard. And I even had a work Christmas party to attend and a dinner out with friends. So while it felt gluttonous in some ways (my one plate at the restaurant) and the opposite in others (I was pretty hu...
This seems a little silly to have this posting, because why would people care about my daily check in? But I have to admit that having a community makes me feel good. I've fallen in the past 2 weeks. We have been in flux and haven't had anywhere near regular meals, but I know I could have made that ...
I'm excited for the December challenge - no reason I can't be successful, because the S days are built in!!! 1 - S Day 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - S Day 8 - S Day 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 - S Day 15 - S Day 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 - 20 - 21 - S Day 22 - S Day 23 - 24 - 25 - (Not taking it as an S day...... ...
I'm feeling a little disheartened because when I start eating this way, which I firmly believe is the "right" way, I feel like my body starts needing less food, which is probably true. However, then I feel like I gain weight more easily? I'm guessing that I feel that way because I feel more full whe...
Thank you for this post. I also have always believed that if I was REALLY hungry, I needed to eat at least double, perhaps triple?, what I would normally eat. That is a huge step to realize that even REALLY hungry is satisfied by normal meals. And it's kind of nice, isn't it? But also a little sad n...
Brilliant list, Ramona! I think a lot of people here are in the same boat. I've started and stopped this plan (I don't like calling it a diet) over several years and my happiest times are when I'm doing the simple Vanilla No S. It's brilliant in its simplicity. And I'm so glad that we found it. Ther...
So, I didn't even like my first S day - I didn't like being "allowed" to eat all day because that's what I did and therefore, I didn't enjoy my meals at all. And I'm tempted to treat today (Sunday) like an N day, but I know better. However, I won't go crazy like I did yesterday.
This sounds like a great idea! I'm in, as well. Challenges are very motivating to me and I know that all I really need to do is establish the habit - how long do they say that takes? 45 days? Let's go for the first 30! 1 - :D 2 - S Day 3 - S Day 4 - :D 5 - :D 6 - :) 7 - :D 8 - :( 9 - S Day 1...
I do agree about the kids and have certainly noticed that hungry kids eat better meals than snacked kids. And I want the kids to know that feeling hungry is normal and ok, not something to avoid like the plague. I LOVE this plan (thanks, Reinhard!) because not only is it simple but good tastes bette...
OK, so I've started and stopped. Started and stopped. Maddeningly. It's too easy to make excuses. I have three kids and it seems they are always eating. I love the system, so I'm ready to start again for real!!!!! I'm posting here (which is something I don't typically do) so that I have some account...
Let me start by saying that I have three children, which makes this system a little more difficult (preparing snacks for kids, etc.). I'm pretty close to what I consider to be my ideal weight, but would like to lose 5-10 pounds. However, I'm tired of obsessing over food. One of my daughters and I ha...
