It's awesome that you are so close. It gives me hope.
I hope you will see that goal in the next few weeks

Hey Blithe, I don't think is an "I'll show you" jealousy because I probably will not see her again for another two years. I felt more upset with myself because I haven't been as dedicated as I know I should have been. I kept thinking, if I had not been such a slacker I could be where she is. This wa...

Jealousy as motivation
Is it wrong to use jealousy as a motivational tool for losing weight?
I saw an old friend today. It's been over two years since last we saw one another. She has lost so much weight. I felt a lot of jealously bubbling inside. Is it wrong to channel that feeling into a positive thing?

This Monday is not over yet but I failed already. After thinking about my failure I realized that I didn't eat enough for breakfast and I got hungry (really hungry) before I was prepared to fix my lunch for the day. Once that first snack hit my mouth I was on a munch-and-nibble quest. Oh well, tomor...

Hi, Freegirl. I wish you the best on your new start. I don't think there is anything wrong with 4 meals. Some people need four meals. If you are really hungry (as in an empty stomach) then I think it's find to eat. If you are a light eater then your meals will probably digest more quickly than if yo...

Thanks for stopping by oolala. I can appreciate your experience with NO S. My husband once said that if you find yourself eating too many cookies then leave at least one so you can realize you have some self-control. So I understand the challenge and accomplishment in going from 30 binge days to 8. ...

Other Habits
What other habits have you changed/added to your life since finding NO S? I'm thinking of non-food related habits.

Today, I've given some thought to my fitness goals. I've already been inconsistently following a resistance routine. So, my first goal is to do it consistently. 3 days a week, ideally Mon, Wed, Fri. I also want to walk a little more. My goal is 30 minutes or more M-F. I will not worry about Saturday...

Slow but Steady
This is my Slow but Steady journal. I've fantasized so much about losing all my extra weight in a short amount of time that the thought of doing it slowly is really scary. But, I what I need more than fast weight loss is consistent structure that will make me change my habits for a lifetime. So, I'm...

Re: A Happy Medium
My biggest realization was this: If I want to maintain/lose weight, I MUST say no at some point. Whether it's to a snack, a dessert, whatever. Whether I'm eating intuitively or following a plan, there will be times when I must decline a food. It sucks. But everyone who has a normal weight does it. ...

oolala53, I do often feel like food is in charge. As if my day will not be complete if I don't have those extra bites of food. And when I think about it it's really silly because the food will be there tomorrow. Vmsurbat is right, changing eating habits really does include the mental. So far, I have...

I've thought about this plan many times before
and now I've decided to do it. I have come to the conclusion that slow weight loss is really okay and probably is better. Right now I am struggling to accept my current body right now today just the way it is. That is the roadblock to having the patience to stick with a eating plan that doesn't prod...
