Breakfast (9.30am): Two bread rolls cut in halves with cheese/cream cheese/cold cuts on each of them, some small tomatoes Lunch (4.30pm): Some pretzel sticks, some grapes, some melon, everything fit on a breakfast plate (it was so very late and I did not want to spoil my appetite for dinner) Dinner ...

Thank you, so granola is what would probably be called crunchy muesli (Knuspermüsli) in German. In my book it would be a sweet for NoS purposes.

@Amy: I just managed to. Weird, it seemed to be so easy last week and this weeks it's again really difficult sometimes. But then again, doing NoS it is easier to notice when&why I feel the urge to eat although I am not hungry. @MJ7910 - is this a flight No? Maybe you're right about the cappuc...

A big breakfast would be a banana, yoghurt with muesli (or is it granola in English? I would like to start a separate English food vocab thread but I suspect I would be the only one interested in it :) , wholemeal bread with butter and cheese for example. What you've said about eating garbage and th...

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. I usually have breakfast around 7am and on some days the first opportunity to have a lunch break is 3.30am or 2.45 am if I am lucky so I relate to your mini fasts. On these days I also try to have a big breakfast and sometimes I am even not hungry anymore after a ce...

It's Salbei in German, Amy. So, do you speak Flamish? And thank you, SpiritSong but you haven't seen me combing through the kitchen goodies cupboard 10 minutes ago willing to trade in my heroic green for a demeaning red for the price of a single piece of anything nice&sweet. So far I have been able ...

Striking parallels and I'll subscribe to that:
I couldn't even tell you what I'd eaten that day. But now, because I'm eating less, I can remember precisely what I ate that day and look back on it fondly. Oh, that sausage was good. So very good.
And I've sure learned a lot of new expletives

Thanks to all of you! Selv-destructive eating behaviour is just not what it used to be, I mean having a really big plate for lunch and stuffing two pieces of sugar free chewing into your mouth instead of just one somehow lacks in dramatic impact. Yesterday: Success I went to the cinema and I...

Tonight we were going to have left over Tuscan style chicken (made in the oven with pancetta, tomatoe sauce, red wine, rosemary etc.) but just before dinner time the door bell rang and a friend gave me some flounders (plaice?) they had just brought with them from Denmark. This is going to be my personal rant about this last week. When I mentioned the chicken pox and the unreliable babysitter Amy said that I had been having a rough week. And I had not even mentioned that I had had a dentist's appt. on Monday and that the dentist's chair went out of order when I was ly...

perhaps being forced to choose an activity that has a more "reasonable" calorie burn will also nudge us in the direction of more "reasonable" eating habits, right along with No-S, of course. So at the end of the day it ends up being a good thing. That's exactly what I thought, I would love it if my...

Amy, this is really weird: I'd been running seriously since 2006, had done 2 half marathons and quite a lot of 10k races and I loved it so much.
