Randi, You have to be patient with yourself when you eat the NoS way. It took me 5 months to knock off 12 pounds and I am in my 40's. Thanks for the advice Billy. The funny thing is that we were on a calm, flat, windless lake! I think we both leaned to one direction to avoid hitting a bridge trestle and so we just went over. Luckily, we were near the side of the lake because I have no idea how I would have got back on that kayak. ...

Day 4 Success!!!!! Hey Mandy: I am running 3 days per week for 30 minutes (not including warming up and cooling down: about 42 minutes total) I have been doing this for about a month, having built up to it over about 9 weeks, thanks to a podcast. (Couch to 5K) I am not a fast runner. I only run at ...

It takes a great deal of prodding to get me movin' but once I'm moving along I feel pretty good. Tiffani: that is how I feel too. When I am finished I never think to myself, "Hmmm, I wish I hadn't exercised!!!" I actually like the feeling of accomplishment more then the workout. I try to run three ...

Hi Karin. You don't have to apologize! I think its great that you have voiced your struggles. For what it's worth, traveling always makes my eating habits risky. (Getting up early, lousy plane food, mini bars, etc.) Just try to be kind to yourself. As a former WW, I found it a lot easier to keep a f...

Well...here is another go: Day 1 - success Day 2 - success Day 3 - success Exercise too! I have decided to take the same approach as MStevens and just write success and/or failure. I find that listing what I eat is pretty laborious and unless anyone out there is hanging on my descriptions of food in...

I am really enjoying reading all of these comments. You are all so thoughtful and smart. :D :D :D To me, Denial means that you know something, but on an unconsious level. So, if your body knows that its overweight (because it does have an inherant wisdom) but you keep putting more food in then it re...

Day 11 Failure Yikes, and Merry Kat, you had just congratulated me!!! My oops was an extra bag of chips at lunch which escalated in a rather large bag of M&M's in the afternoon. I was so sick. I did not have dinner. But, I'm not discouraged as this is part of my No S life. I will just soldier on. I ...

Hi Karina. I'm sorry that you are having self-doubts. I think I had them too, in the beginning. I was afraid to trust myself. The rules almost seemed too easy. But the only thing you can do is just try it. The first month or so is a little challenging because your body and mind are used to certain t...
