Folks with funky schedules need to revise the plan sometimes. It might be that you are going to PLAN four meals a day - the ones before and after class being small ones. That's okay. Re: Day 7 of 100
Sound like you've got it down, Dawn. Five pounds in a month... good work! Well the first S week went well. I counted it as a success. I did great with the S events, but I didn't do my 4 meals as I should have. The weekends are not as routine and I have my family here with me all day interupting my p...

I'm probably being overbearing. I have personal reasons for that, but my experience is not yours. If you are taking care of transportation to and from and don't take undo risks, then you are the very best judge of whether its too much or not. I'm sorry if I'm being over the top. I'll stop now. And y...

Traveling for work is a killer. I have a portable gym from Lifeline USA (www.lifelineusa.com) that's great for travel - you'd be surprised how good the workout is. Pretty cheap too. The rubber cables from them last a long time... Wow, I just realized I haven't posted anything here since May. Yikes. ...

I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles. I'd consider all those days you were reaching out to friends, and certainly any days surrounding surgery as S days. Okay...the rest of October was not worth dwelling on. Our friends' son finally passed away from Batten's disease - awful disease - always fat...

No-S doesn't rule out eating just two meals. There have been others here in the past that have done that. Let us know how it goes for you. Day 7: FAILED Today I had Chile's, but I took that huge meal and spaced it over the day. It wasn't to No-s guidelines, but I feel proud for not going crazy and e...

Re: Drinking on No S?
The term "beer gut" doesn't come from nowhere. Drinking a lot really isn't good for you. Are you talking about lost weekends, or three drinks out on Friday and Saturday night? If you can't easily stop at three, think more seriously about whether you are developing a habit that you don't want to deve...

Re: Questions
There are many people here who have lost weight, some dramatically. I lost 30 pounds, then broke the habit, and gained most of it back. If you can build and keep the habit, you can do very well. I'm back at it now, and in one month have lost about eight pounds. I don't feel deprived, I feel good. I ...

I'm losing weight at a pace of about a pound a week. I'm still not sure what got me off track last time (after I had lost almost 30 pounds). Live and learn. Those turnips sound good! I belong to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm and get a box of produce every other week, and that's been g...

Serious nighttime cravings are tough to crack. Keep up the good work, and good luck. Since you've been curtailing your night time eating, has your sleep been better? Maybe you can be a traditionalist about 4th meal - have a glass of warm milk... Another great day. The hungries didn't have a hold me yesterday so that does help. I ran into the same dilema last night as I did the night before. I was out and got in late - late for me that is. I really could have ski...

The other night my wife made something that just... well. We've been going to this community farm lately. Whatever it is, I prefer to feel between-meal hungry to full. I don't fear that feeling anymore. I just feel better that way.

That could be very motivating... And welcome back! Hello - this is my second atttempt at the No S Diet and am loving it! I made a half-hearted attempt earlier this year, then screwed it up by trying to add too many rules, exceptions, etc. This time, I am just following the original rules of the diet...

I don't think mild hunger provides a perverse pleasure - I think it provides a mental advantage. I'm much sharper when I'm between-meals hungry. I wouldn't count that as a failure either. We had chicken soup and biscuits the other day, and I had two biscuits - but that is how many I have every time....

With a really busy lifestyle, it's hard. Maybe try one meal at a time? Standardize breakfast, then standardize dinner if you can. Lunch may always be hard to pin down. It's worthwhile making rituals around meals - like saying grace (even if you aren't religious, it's worth taking a few seconds to ju...

You feel bad because you are using a small amount of fat to cook your food? Stop feeling bad. It's part of cooking! When my daughter was younger and she had school assignments that required memorization, or "patternization" of some kind or another, we used to walk. Another thing to do if you feel like you aren't getting enough lower body workout is to incorporate knee flexing in SG move. I'm glad you are at least a bit better. I went to doctor and found I had herniated disk. The idea is a reasonable meal at mealtime, then stop eating until the next mealtime. You can have a beverage, just not a sugar-based one. There is a one plate rule, but most of us don't sweat it if we have our veggie-only salad on the side (not all loaded down with croutons and dressing and stuff!)....
