December 1st
Dec. 1st of last year, I started No S. It's Dec. 1st again, and I am still on No S. Wish my weight loss were greater than ~30 lbs. but that's 10% of what I weighed. I could probably goose it a bit if I were more active but when it feels like your knees are being sledge-hammered just walking to the bathroom, it's hard.
Still, I've probably had fewer than a dozen non-weekend S days since I started, so my habits are changed. That's got to count for something.

That is wonderful Eva!!! 30 lbs in a year is a great success!!!!
It's those fad diets that promise 30 lbs loss in a month, that perverts our own vision of what should be considered normal or healthy..
Good for you!!! I wish you much more success in continuing on your journey!!
Very inspirational!!

Congratulations!
And please don't diminish your accomplishment! You met all three of the "quantitative criteria/guidelines" for posting here. What's more, it sounds like you have really solid habits in place -- that counts for a lot!
Thank you for sharing your success with us here and best wishes going forward,
Reinhard

30 pounds in a year is a great success and you should be very proud of your accomplishment!!! I know what you mean when you say that your knees feel like they've been hit by a sledgehammer. Have you tried to start with just 5 minutes walking every day? What has really saved my knees and tendons is MBT shoes. They are expensive, but worth every penny. I wear mine when I do housework. Housework can be a workout too. Plus, you're home, and when you start to hurt you can sit down and take a break.
Keep up the good work!

WouldYouEve,
Have you ever noticed how the Google weight loss ads on this site are always about how to lose weight fast? Today's is:
"Obey 2 Simple Rules And Lose 9 Lbs A Week Guaranteed".
Bunk.
Quick weight loss is like shotgun wedding, only some shotgun weddings actually last!
From someone who was on this diet a year ago and has lost fewer than five pounds since then (but also had a few detours!), CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm almost 4 months in and feeling a bit discouraged over my S days. REading your post makes me realize I need to feel good over my N days. I'm impressed with your courage to stick to this so that now it's second nature. Keep up with us!

Just an update
I hadn't weighed myself in awhile, but did so last Friday, and discovered I am now down almost 38 lbs. from when I started. Part of this may have come from being in the hospital for several days, on clear liquids, but I'm also trying to be more active, within my limit of my disability. This morning, not only did I have to use a belt on my pants, but I had to make a new hole to make it tighter.

I went to the doctor's this AM, and, of course, they had to weigh me.
Somebody's scale is off. There's no way I could have lost 8-9 lbs. in one week.
If it turns out the doctor's scale is correct, I'm about 1/3 of the way where I want to be.
Of course, you could say that I'm already there since I seldom have red days.

I'm back!
Well, December 1st has come and gone again.
I have lost 120 lbs. since I started, 40 lbs. of it on No S.
I'm back again because I'm starting to gain, and I'm gaining because I'm eating sweets and snacks.
I'm hoping that being vigilant about No S will stop my weight gain. But if it doesn't, I still think I'm better off following it.

Hey, you inspired me awhile back, and I'm still here, doing even better. I hope you get the results you want. It's a great way to live.

Four years and a month since I started No S. Two operations later*, I went from a starting weight here of 298, to 256 the morning of my weight loss surgery, to 157.4 lbs. back in August, to 162 lbs. now.
*VSG-a weight loss surgery in June 2011, and bi-lateral knee replacement in August 2012.
No S works.

Congratulations on your tremendous and sustained achievement!
Nothing makes me happier than to hear successful old timers say No-s is still working for them.
I know that all too often surgery isn't the silver bullet people would like it to be so I'm delighted you've been able to combine the two approaches (I'm guessing permasnacking might be the great danger here, so in a way no-s might be an ideal supplement). We've gotten a lot of questions about that over the years and it's great to see evidence of such success.
Best wishes for 2013 and thank you for swinging by here again!
