Check in #2!
Hi everyone! It's been nearly a year since my first check in, so I figured it was time to stop by! Not too much has happened since I last posted, except that I'm down another 30 lbs. Which brings the total weight loss so far to 50 pounds!! I had to lean in closer to the scale to make sure I wasn't seeing things! You guys, I haven't been this thin since high school. I was so happy I started crying. Just thinking about it now is making me a bit misty.
Not that there weren't some frustrating times. After the first 25 lbs, I plateaued for a few months. I'd lose maybe a pound a month for four or five months. I reexamined everything I was eating, double-checked my S vs. No S days, and couldn't understand why I wasn't making more/faster progress. Then I realized how much looser my pants felt. I noticed how much more energy I had. I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and stick with the plan. I'm so, so glad that I did! Had I thrown in the towel then, I'm certain I would've let soda and sweets sneak their way back into my daily meals. And we all know how that story goes -- that 25 lbs will find their way home (and they'll bring friends along)!
So if you're No-Sing and your progress has slowed or stopped, please please PLEASE don't give up! This plan is healthy and effective and SAFE. And it works for you for life.
I hope you're all doing well. I can't wait to read everyone's stories! It's great to be back!

So glad to hear you're happy you stuck to it. I'm also tickled to think you lost so much more weight while hardly realizing it was as much as it was. And getting to high school weight!

Congratulations! Not just on your weight loss, but that you didn't let the number on the scale discourage you, which is what a lot of us often do. It's happened to me way too many times. Forget that I have more energy , I'm stronger, and I'm beginning to over come urges to binge. This is very encouraging for me to read, since I returned to No S recently in order to break a stubborn plateau and to develop eating habits that I hope will break the diet/binge cycle for good. After reading your testimony, I'm reminded to continue to look at all of the other benefits I 'm gaining that far surpass the scale in importance. The scale is just one measurement if fitness success. It doesn't tell the whole story, like how many lbs. of fat were lost and how many lbs. of muscle were gained. Even though I know all of this, it helps to hear/ read it from others who are experiencing the same challenges.

I'm glad this got bumped up, because I was JUST starting to feel discouraged about plateauing (again). Will I ever learn? Anyway, this is a great testimonial. Thanks!
