1000 day challenge has begun!

Primary goal - get to 'goal BMI weight' over the course of 1000 days, starting today...

Multiple mini-goals to meet this goal, but main goals are to do the No S diet + at least one workout a day for 1000 days (well, not a full 1000 - once a week is the rest/S day)... I will start doing 2 workouts a day besides the one, but just starting out, only holding myself accountable for the one so as to not burn out or overstress about it...

Note - if you don't like me using your logo in the widget on the blog, let me know and it'll be gone real quickly.

I visited your blog. Very ambitious. I feel I must say you have a lot of S's, more, frankly, than is probably habit-friendly. Could you possibly plan on phasing them out over a year? (talking about your No S margin notes.)

Did I miss how much you expect yourself to exercise each day? What's the minimum that would allow you to mark yourself as successful?

I'm basically using ONE workout tape in the morning, and ultimately want to do one at night too. I have the basic Power 90 tapes so am using those as the basis at the start.... so one workout would be about 20-40 minutes or so and focused on either cardio or body sculpting... I've found various tapes on youtube and a few other video sites online, and also have some tapes on dvd and video from years past when either my wife or I got inspired to try some workout and then ultimately quit doing that, so if I don't do power 90 since I get tired of it eventually I'll do something else...

It might be a two mile walking tape, might be a tae bo tape, could be anything really. I also have a variety of weights and a weighted vest, so if I get sick of the videos eventually I might even just use some of that stuff or go for a walk with the weighted vest or something. I used to run a lot back in college in the 90s so might do some of that, but not sure about it. I find that I get shin splints a lot more often nowadays then I did back then... and running on sidewalks is probably not the best thing for that sort of situation. We also have a pool here where we live now, but usually it's filled with little kids, so not sure that that's the best place in the world to do some workouts.

On the No S, I do probably have too many 'goals' but really want to ultimately get there. Primary goal for now is no seconds, no sweets, no snacks. I

As far as youtube goes, check out some of these (I was really surprised how much stuff was out there):

and if you have a roku or some other way of playing video from internet on tv, both All Fitness TV channel, and Live Exercise seem pretty interesting as well as a few podcasts like Yoga Today, Hillary's Yoga Practice Podcast, Yoga with Les, and Fit for Duty.

Best of luck to you. Today we started a Biggest Loser type competition at work, although there are no prizes except for the gratification of losing weight. I actually started back on No S over the past 2 weeks, so I felt ahead of myself as I have already lost weight and today is the official start. I mean Biggest Loser not like working out like a dog and doing crazy calorie restrictions. Everyone is on their own doing whatever they want to do to lose weight. It's really laid back. Maybe too much. We shall see!
