Does anyone eat their first meal of the day at lunch time?

Does anyone eat their first meal of the day at lunch time?
Or close to Lunch, say 11:00 a.m. Then have their second meal at mid afternoon and then their last meal sometime in the evening? If so, just wondering how this worked out for you. I am considering doing this because I am just not hungry in the morning, never have been. I do have one cup of coffee with cream and I can easily go until lunch time for my first meal. I am curious about what you think of this.

Hi Kat, it's another Kat! From what I understand the timing of meals is entirely up to you and your lifestyle. I am not an early breakfast eater, either. I eat around 10am when I can. If I am working, I eat much earlier so that I do not skip breakfast all together. But whatever you are going to live with comfortably is probably best for you.

I also usually skip breakfast and eat only lunch and dinner. Dinner is often about 8 PM.

I have done this occasionally, but not typically, though as some of the others have said, if I do, I eat only one other meal, usually some time between 5:30 and 7 p.m. I will have a cafe au lait, decaf or otherwise, if needed mid-afternoon.
However, I will say that before I started No S, I was often not hungry in the morning, but when I stuck to no snacking in the afternoon or evening, and ate a moderate dinner, I was often hungry in the morning! This went on for about two years. Now it varies, but I"m reluctant to give up having at least a small breakfast most days. I may be willing to change that in my fourth year.
However, I will say that before I started No S, I was often not hungry in the morning, but when I stuck to no snacking in the afternoon or evening, and ate a moderate dinner, I was often hungry in the morning! I wait till I'm hungry for breakfast, which means I usually eat at about 10 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
This has actually done wonders for my snacking habit, because my most common snack-attacks came at -- you guessed it, mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and evening. Now I am either waiting for a meal at those times, or just had a meal.
I have found that I'm not truly hungry for dinner when I've had a good late lunch. But I eat it because eating is fun and I want to. I am experimenting with paring it down, and I may move to 2 meals someday, because it's probably healthier for me.

finallyfull, what a terrific idea. I work flexibly from home so am liking your meal timings (although my dinner has to be later due to my husband's work schedule - and we like eating together after a long day apart).

I have found that I am totally flexible on dinnertime now, so I can eat with my husband late sometimes, no problem. Previously I was kind of pushy about getting to eat early. So not only do I get to eat at 3 without it being a "snack" -- but I am free to eat dinner whenever it's convenient. that has been very freeing!
I have to say I love my newfound ability to be cool and unhurried about when dinner is.

Hi, I haven't posted here much, but just came across your thread.
I think I'm in a similar situation. Two days a week (and not weekend days!) I have a weird morning schedule that makes it impossible for me to have breakfast till at least 11 a.m.
I was debating whether that meant I had to declare yet 2 more "S" days but now I realize it's OK to just schedule my meals later on those days. So thank you!!

I started daily IF a while back and got out of the habit of breakfast. Just not really hungry, besides it frees up a lot of time. I usually eat first meal about 11:30 and then dinner about 6pm. My plates are a little fuller since there are only 2 of them per day. And since I really enjoy a good omelet and bacon, I often have breakfast for lunch.

It has been a while since I posted here, but I'm thinking about doing this too.
I've tried eating more at meals but it doesn't seem to help curb my appetite, I seem to be hungry all day from the moment I eat breakfast.
I think if I skip breakfast I can then have 3 meals (lunch, afternoon snack, dinner) and enjoy them more. I work from home so this has the added bonus that my mornings could be more productive because I'm not fussing about making breakfast. I'll give it a go and see what happens!

I am definitely one who does better eating Breakfast at 10, lunch at 2 and dinner at 6. I am never hungry before 10, and if I do start eating early, I am hungry all day long. No S is so much easier with a little intermittent fasting thrown in.
I also do Shangri La style oil shots between meals (my adaptation--no orange juice, etc--1 Tbs of oil without tasting) if you know how Seth Roberts does that. It makes my appetite at meal times much smaller.

the idea behind the shangri la diet according to dr. seth roberts is that by taking one or two tablespoons of oil in a tasteless way (no associated flavours for at minimum half an hour before and after taking flavourless oil) your setpoint drops and appetite suppression occurs.
I use MCT oil as it is the most flavorless healthy oil I know (people often have to work their way up to a tablespoon or two because like coconut oil it can cause some gastric distress if you take too much at once before you are adapted).
I find it far easier to do No S in association with the oil. Calorically I don't think it is any different than having a glass of OJ or milk between meals, and the MCT oil is supposedly quite good for brain function.

Each of us needs to do whatever works for him/her.
I'm retired now, and can fit mealtime into my schedule whenever I like.
I usually get up around 4 a.m. and have breakfast between 7 and 8 a.m.
I'm a "morning person", and am very hungry at breakfast and feel totally deprived if I skip it.
Breakfast and lunch are the meals that are most important to me,
I'm often happy with just a tiny, light dinner, but need some protein and fat at breakfast.
Each of us needs to do whatever works for him/her.
I'm retired now, and can fit mealtime into my schedule whenever I like.

I am a late breakfast eater too I usually have mine at 12pm, after sending my elder son to school and after taking care of my two year old. But I won’t advice the same to others.
Purely from the health point of view eating late or skipping breakfast is not at all a good idea. Out body needs energy, nutrients, and minerals early in the morning to engage in our daily physical activities. And don’t forget people who eat early in the morning weigh less than those who skip breakfast or eat it late.

I am a health conscious mother of two. Having tried general motors diet and 21 days diet plan, I am now looking for new ideas and tips to stay healthy.
I do the same. Wait till I'm hungry, usually between 11 and 12. Then, something fairly small in mid-afternoon and then dinner between 6 and 7. If I don't think I will have time for dinner, I eat a larger meal around 4-5, making it 2 meals that day. Eating first thing in the morning just makes me ravenous all day and thinking about food every waking moment.

veggiegirl, out of curiosity, are you hungry at 3 and 6? I would have to eat just a few bites at noon and 3 if I wanted to be hungry at 3 and at dinner.

During the week, I usually am hungry at those times. I teach and usually don't have time for more than a handful of carrot sticks at noon. 3pm is usually a small amount also. Around 6pm is more. Since I've been concentrating on eating slowly, I find I don't want very much in one sitting. Truly weird for this recovering binge eater!
