2 Meals Instead of 3
Does anyone eat a brunch instead of breakfast and lunch? I find I am not hungry at all in the mornings nor do I have the time. Waiting until I'm hungry, which is close to lunchtime, seems to cause a lot less anxiety towards food. I also find that as soon as I start eating, then my mind is constantly on food. So the earlier in the day I start, the more I will eat in the day. Just wondering if anyone feels the same way or is it just the result of years of diet head that is causing me to feel this way. Any insight and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I normally eat breakfast at around 9:30-10. Usually it's protein filled so it keeps me pretty full. Normally if I have a big protein breakfast I won't eat lunch unless we are eating dinner late and in that case I'll normally eat a small meal in between. If I have a light breakfast though I do eat lunch. I just go by my hunger queues.

Our beloved Wosnes, who I hope is just taking a break and will be back when she gets her computer fixed, usually ate just two meals.
I do much better with a smoothie or something light in the morning to tide me through till 1PM or so.
If two works for you, then go for it. You don't have to eat three meals, but you get to.

If you are consistently sticking to no snacks (especially after dinner) and are still not hungry for breakfast, it would be appropriate to experiment with two meals. If I were retired, I might evolve to eating only two meals because I would be able to eat a relaxed meal late morning, but since I can't, I opt to have a little something in the morning. I was a binger and bingeing is highly correlated with not eating breakfast, so I'm cautious about it.
Though it may be questionable for safety, I find I can eat in an unrushed way driving to work. There is a stretch of freeway I use that has little traffic. That's where I eat. I've usually prepared the food in small bites I can pop in my mouth and savor.
Also, don't feel compelled to eat a big breakfast. Both the French and Italians typically eat three meals but breakfast is very small, normally a very moderate serving of a carb and coffee.
Apparently, the Greeks have coffee and a cigarette for breakfast. It doesn't keep them slim, though!

Oolala, you are too funny! I wonder what you're eating for breakfast that you can pop in your mouth as savory bites?
I eat a fairly small breakfast on weekdays--just a packet of instant oatmeal most mornings. Course, I'd never skip my very creamy coffee, so that adds a bundle of calories (satiating fat and protein, too). On the weekends I tend to indulge in a much bigger, later breakfast. Love my bacon and eggs when I have time to eat slowly and with my family.

Bread with almond butter or bites of bacon. Sometimes slices of fruit plus nuts.
I didn't want to admit that I also eat grains or legumes with a spoon out of a bowl on my lap.

I usually have only two meals on Saturdays and Sundays - big breakfast right when I wake up, and 6-7 hours later a two-course dinner with dessert. I don't see a point in eating even a small supper in the evening if I don't feel hungry. I might have a cup of cocoa if I have a craving for a snack, though.
Hiya,
When I started NoS I used to be exactly the same. I had a latte in the morning and then lunch and dinner. However, the longer I did NoS and the lighter my meals got the hungrier I found myself in the mornings. Sometimes I only have an apple in the morning now and sometimes a bigger breakfast, such as porridge. However, my No-Snacking habits were already in place from not snacking between lunch and dinner so I'm not really tempted between breakfast and lunch anymore (post-dinner is my temptation time).
I suggest you only eat those two meals and not compensate for the fact that you don't eat Breakfast, so stick to two plates, and you will automatically fall into the 3 meals after 6 months to a year.

Thanks for the great responses everyone! This is very helpful. I will keep you all posted as to how it's going. Although I am on the NoS boards everyday and love reading everyone's posts, I don't log a daily check-in myself. I will try to commit to doing that so that I can look back later on and analyze if my "tweaked" system is really working.
Have a great day everyone!

I've been at this for over 7 years and generally eat only two meals daily. I have my first meal around noon and my second around 6 PM or later. It works well for me and I'm rarely tempted to snack. I've been trying to have my more substantial meal at noon and a lighter meal in the evening. After a lifelong habit of having the larger meal in the evening, the hardest thing for me is to remember to make the bigger meal midday!
Occasionally, maybe once or twice a month, I'll find I want breakfast and I'll have something light like toast and fruit or yogurt and fruit.

I should add that I was like eschano, where at first I didn't eat breakfast. Now I actually am hungry for breakfast. It took a few months, though.
