Ready for a change!!.
hi everyone ,this is my first day following the no s diet really hope I can find the will power to stick to it.so fed up of battling with my disorganisedeatingbits caused by years of counting cals,points,units the list is endless .I need something simple and easy to follow feel like food is controlling me instead of the other way around( never used a forum before so I apologise in advance iff I make any mistakes )

Hope your first day went well. You echo how so many of us feel. I find the sticking to anything, no matter how simple has me rebelling. I think it's when we stop trying to do something that we need to worry.

Welcome! I just started on Dec 6! It's harder than I thought, but so far my days are green... I, too, have been through all the diets -- counting calories, points, low carb, paleo... etc... It does get old! These seems more doable to me! Time will tell!

I'm fond of saying that No S can be hard at times. It just turns out that for most of us, everything else is even harder. When you really accept that this is probably your best bet, the ups and downs get more acceptable.
Try to take the long view. You really can't know what it will be like after six months or more of compliance, and no one can predict it exactly for you, but there's only one way to find out. Be curious enough to rack up those N days!

So HAPPY to find this way of eating, heard about it and checked out the compact copy of the book via local library. Living far north (Fairbanks, Alaska) with only a few hours of daylight right now. Just about everything about my 60 year old body is a challenge in this hard winter environment. Last diet was the Ideal Protein diet, but the weight came back with a vengeance - so out of control with food. Something like the "Yes S (Shame) Diet". Now, enjoying the restfulness between each of the three meals, yoga 2X's per week, and walking! My ego wishes I could loose more #'s in 35 days when I travel; but my true self wants to abide with the No S Diet....much encouragement to all!
I may be lost, but I'm making good time.
Abide: what a great term. Stick with it. Five more weeks of sanity is going to make you feel lighter for your travel.

After descending into looking at some diet stuff, I reinforce the wisdom of finding a way to live peacefully with food rather than a way to lose weight. The results of even more rigorous systems than No S do not have very inspiring results for all the effort, in my opinion. I'm convinced that people are much more likely to learn to do with less quite willingly by implementing these principles.
